Rocks on Rosalind is a fun and lively Bendigo restaurant. Whilst we donât take ourselves too seriously, we are serious about how well we look after you. Rocks is a casual and contemporary Bendigo Restaurant housed within Bendigoâs historic first bank, loc
We have been here quite a few times over the years. We like the atmosphere and ambience. Intimate, without being pretentiously so, set in a wonderful old Bendigo building. For us it is 'warmer' in a more welcoming way than the otherwise excellent 'hatted' Bendigo option. The food is usually pretty good. Unfortunately our experience this time around was disappointing. We ordered 4 of the medium sized options and a smaller offering of the scallops to share between the 2 of us. The quantity was adequate and the quality generally good though lacked presentation. The scallops always good, the pork belly and salt and pepper squid likewise, though not memorable or adventurous. The two vegetable dishes of Beetroot and peppers were ok but probably better treated as sides if in a large group. As stand alone dishes they weren't nuanced enough and would have been hard going to get through if not shared. We weren't feeling any love or innovation from the kitchen. Pretty limited veg. options of substance. The menu doesn't appear to change frequently either. Our real issue though was that after we told the wait staff that we wanted to eat slowly, all 5 dishes arrived at once within 10 minutes of ordering. The very annoying metal plate stacker was suggested and rejected. We booked for 8pm and the kitchen effectively closed at 9 but for dessert service - kitchen staff clearly keen to get home. If you want to eat in a more leisurely way then maybe book earlier and tell them to go 'very slowly'. The service this time turned a potential dining experience into merely eating. The kitchen missed ( or ignored ) the mail. The food alone couldn't carry that, particularly when we couldn't eat it in a timely way.Dessert - raspberry tart - was exsy, poor and poorly presented - served with teaspoons to eat it with - what is that about?Service pleasant but not particularly attentive. No bread to start - which I always have an issue with, and overall at $80 for two without wine/drinks made us feel like it missed the mark.Just not enough love or attention to detail for mine. Has dropped back to a 3 this time around.

We had dinner for two. The location is a very nicely converted old terrace house, with the restaurant divided into two rooms. The decor is warm and inviting, and the high ceilings add to a sense of spaciousness whilst keeping noise levels down.We had two dishesâ a seafood selection in a mild red curry sauce, and a chicken and vegetable stir fry with fresh chilli and basil. Both were very pleasantâ they were both quite mild and perhaps lacked the sweet/ sour/hot balance of ârealâ Thai food, but were very satisfying none the less. Service was good, and the serves were generous.

Service was good but meals weren't up our standards of Thai food. Meals were so overpriced $28,being most expensive.soups were from $12-$16. Two dishes, 2 wines, very average wines and a plain rice, $70.00.So expensive for bendigo. Beautiful old bank though.

The food was tasty and the Pad Thai was the best. The Massaman beef was delish and the entreeâs were generous servings. Itâs byo wine and beer and they donât sell any alcohol on the premises.... probably why the overall bill was cheaper than expected. The service was friendly but a bit slow. There was a steady flow of customers coming in for take away orders. Overall, Iâd definitely return next time weâre in Bendigo.

What??? A first class Thai food experience hidden in the United Kingdom hotel in Golden Square? You're kidding? No. It's true!Having recently toured various parts of Thailand I can honestly say that this restaurant's food is better than anything we experienced across Thailand.O.K. The downside - you have to wait quite a while for your food. I waited 35 minutes on a quiet Saturday night. I convinced myself that the wait would be worth it.I felt sure that the food was being freshly prepared. Whaddaya know? I was right.Just phone ahead or have a drink in the bar, is my suggestion. This is a gem.
