My first visit to a Taiwanese restaurant has convinced me that I don't really like Taiwanese dishes. Others in our party might disagree, but nobody was real happy about our experience. Part of the problem is that we ordered off the menu, when probably 80% of their patrons went to the buffet. I checked out the buffet and didn't like what I saw, but there were a lot of choices. I settled for a scallion pancake (just fair -- Indian versions are much better) and hot and sour soup (the soup was very good). Other dishes like their pork noodle soup were bland and/or very greasy. That may be typical but I wasn't impressed. Service was OK, except for my soup, which never arrived until I had to make a special trip to search out our server and remind her. Finally, prices are not cheap.

Cafe 101 is becoming one of our favorite traditional Chinese restaurants in Atlanta (actually in the international area of Doraville). The menu is full of traditional foods not familiar to many Americans, but there is also food like lo mein many will recognize. The portions are immense and the food is cooked fresh and served piping hot. The Chinese eggplant is a not-to-miss dish, and we even tried the pork intestines, which were amazingly good. It was my first meal of pig intestines and it won't be my last! The duck is mouth-watering and the freshly cooked fish is incredible. Service is superb and the manager keeps everything perfectly timed.

Love the selection of drinks and snacks as well. Taro bubble tea is my favorite and I love that you can add two toppings for free :-) The chicken nuggets was good as well as everything else. Very affordable.
