Swiss Chalet - Vail

Reviewed By Alphaj

We come to the Swiss Chalet every year during Vail Oktoberfest. We were disappointed that they no longer have the appetizer cheese fondue. As a result we had to get it as a entree which comes with both bread and a very generous amount of vegetables. We were too full to order another entree, and we missed being able to have our weinersnitzel. We did have a salad, plus a dessert called Heisse Liebe (which translates to hot love). It has a hot raspberry/rum sauce, vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream and fresh raspberries. We would have come back the next night to have that dessert again, but they are closed on Mondays. The service is amazing, and they check on you every 3-5 minutes. We can't wait to come back next year.Dear Alphaj,Let me know when you are back next year and I can see what we can do to accommodate an appetizer size. Agreed, there is always room for one of our favorite summer desserts "Heisse Liebe". Don't hesitate to reach out: 970-479-5523.BestDanijela McGinley

The Blu Cow

A fun modern European style cafe serving the cultish Swiss Hot Dog, Ernst's famous soup, Elk Brats, paninis, and other unique foods, handcrafted cocktails, European and local beers. A true Vail icon.

The Swiss dog is a great option for a quick snack or lunch near Vail Mountain. They sometimes have sandwiches but the Swiss dog is the thing to try. The little bit of curry flavor and mustard are great.

Never have I had a better dining experience at a restaurant. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious- even satisfying 4 picky children, and the presentation and atmosphere were charming. This place is a must! We'll definitely be returning.
