Reviews on Swiss food in Murren, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. The only way to reach lovely Murren is by taking a series of trains and cable cars. Once you’re there, you’re walking or biking around this charming car-free village. But it’s well-worth the trek, especially if you’re a skier or snowboarder. There are 32 miles of trails plus lots of off-piste opportunities. The sledding is even better. Take a cable car to the summit of Schilthorn for epic alpine views.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the terrace soaking in the Alpine view and crisp clean air. Our party ordered potato soup, mixed green salad and the Alpine Mac and cheese and were pleased with all. The waitress was especially helpful and friendly. The train was an easy off and back on. This is a great alternative to the crowds in neighboring villages.

After seeing the signs outside,we came here for a lunch of apple strudel. The strudel was good, but not exceptional. We sat outside and and nice views. Fast service.

Exemplary cozy hotel restaurant at altitude in the small but famous village of Murren, excellent position conveniently right beside the Schilthornbahn to whisk you up to the summit and the revolving Piz Gloria of â On her Majestyâs Secret Serviceâ fame and thence the relatively demanding and quite long âBlack Runâ down.

We came here for lunch and sat outside. We were still jet lagged and just wanted something light. Their tomato and goulash soups fit the bill. Goulash soup was very different that expected. Service was similar to a U.S. dinner

Perfect before and after your mountain experience. Our restaurant with table service rotates around its own axis in 45 minutes, gliding past more than 200 mountain peaks. We offer a wide range of dishes from snacks to regional specialities. Restaurant ope
Second time doing the breakfast buffet at Piz Gloria at the top of the Schilthorn. There are plenty of items to pick from and the quality was good. The main reason to travel up there is to experience the restaurant revolving 360° while you dine at nearly 10,000 feet, so you capture breathtaking views of 20+ mountain peaks. After you finish eating you can view the James Bond experience downstairs or go out onto the observation deck outside for even more photo opportunities. Dear smoke43830You are right ! If you have time to explore, you will find a lot of things to see.The combination to enjoy the buffet and the view at the same time - is special. Thank you very much for your visit.

Panorama-Restaurant Alpina famous for its Swiss specialties, Burgers & more.
We ate here 3 times during our stay in Murren. It was our favorite restaurant in town! They had so many good vegetarian options on the menu. I loved the Spaghetti with Pesto Sauce, Veggie Rosti, and Thai Green Curry with Rice. Also, do not miss their Apple Strudel dessert - it was amazing! My mouth still waters just thinking about it... :) The service was warm and scenery beautiful as well. Highly recommended.

Our Restaurant La Grotte is well known for its Swiss and international dishes. Well known for its fondues. Suberb selection of wines.
We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere is nice. One bit of constructive criticism: the waiters seemed very stressed and acted the overall mood of the dinner. As former restaurant owners, we understand the feeling of being very busy snd understaffed or the kitchen being behind. But with most of the patrons being on vacation and in "relaxed mode", it is stressful to see and feel their stress. They were too stressed to be cordial with us so the result was an ovetall feeling that we were not welcome. That being said, the food was good. The carpaccio and lasagna were excellent!

Ristorante & Pizzeria Bar & Pub
This was restaurant was recommend by my guesthouse, a local that lives here! Itâs about a 10-15 min walk from the gondola from gimmerwald, on the opposite side of the main town. Worth the stroll! It is a old charming building inside, with lots of tables, very romantic! They even light Candles at your table! They do take reservations too! There are tables outside on a nice day, there isnât a view here except the lovely outdoors, but trust me, the restaurants in town with a view are for tourists! Mediocre food with views, and not great service. go to those places for a drink.. come here to eat!! I went there to celebrate my birthday dinner. I had been eating a lot of traditional Swiss food so I thought I would try one if their Italian dishes, they have a great menu with a large variety of local Swiss, Italian pasta and pizza too! Great beer, wine and bar menu too. I ordered the pasta carbonara, and the bruschetta. It was amazing!! Rivals any meal Iâve had in Italian restaurants in Italy! Delicious! Wonderful, caring service and staff too. They treat you like they are so glad you are there, and the great service , nice atmosphere, really great food, to make this a really great place! I loved it so much I went back the next day and had the pizza! WOW! That was one of the best pizzas Iâve ever had too! Better than Italy! I ordered the garlic/ spicy salami and added mushrooms and black Olives. It was enough for two to share, but I ate almost the whole pizza myself, it was that good! This time I had local Swiss Carmel ice cream for dessert. Go here to eat! Plan on costing on one of your first nights and I promise youâll go back!

The restaurants in the Hotel Eiger are the Eiger Stubli, the Tachi Bar, The Eiger Saal and our terrace. From the Saal and terrace you enjoy a spectacular view over the famous mountains Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. We mainly serve Swiss and French dishes. Fo
Totally overpriced and only average food. As entries, we were having a portion of melon and ham and a salad with hot goat cheese for CHF 18 each. As main dishes, a salad with roasted chicken and veal with noodles. The goat cheese salad and the salad with chicken (basically a Cesar salad) were ridiculously small and only average quality. The veal with noodles were ok from a quality stand point but also a small portion. Service was friendly and ok.
Our cosy Edelweiss Restaurant offers you a selection of typical Swiss cuisine and in connection with our owner and chef âa touch of South Africaâ. For our chefs, it is particularly important to prepare fresh and healthy meals using sustainably grown local
As we would not understand what items were, on the menu, we basically thought we could not go wrong with cheese toast, however, it was far too much cheese, which drowned out the toast and it ended up being greasy. Not a fan of this item, but I think this is the way they eat in Switzerland.
