On every visit to Scuol, we make the day trip Samnaun, and we tend to end up at the Chasa Montana for lunch. We've had some very good meals here, including our most recent lunch of Flammkuchen Diavolo mit scharfer - Salami, Peperoni und Samnauner Kräutercrème (hot salami, pepperoni and Samnaun herb cream) and Tarte Flambee Original mit Speck, Zwiebeln und Samnauner Kräutercrème (bacon, onions and Samnaun herb cream).Delicious. Our waiter suggested a âspecial white wineâ which was so good we ordered a second glass (Johann something or other).Good food, excellent service and spectacular scenery...but not inexpensive (well, it is Switzerland!)

Stopped here for lunch 2 days. First we looked in the downstairs self service place to see a horrendous queue. A quick look at the menu for the upstairs table service restaurant showed that the prices were not greatly different, so up we went. There is a choice of 2 outdoor terraces or a spacious, light and airy interior. Menu choices range from light meals (eg soup) to more substantial meals. Pleasant staff, good service and great views, all in a civilised environment.

The Hutte is the one and only place on this busy, crazy mountain where there are no lunch queues, no music, no DJ and no groups of people in identical jackets drinking schnapps from their ski poles. Thatâs because itâs situated well off the beaten track, hundreds of meters offpiste from the upper station of the Piz Val Gronda cable car. There are three options to get there - 1) ski off-piste from the top of the Piz Val Gronda lift (if thereâs new snow), 2) ski trek up the valley from Gampen (roughly 30mins if you are fit) or 3) Cheat, meaning call the restaurant and have them arrange a snowmobile pick-up from the bottom of the Gampen lift. We bravely decided for the third option, which worked well and costs 8 euro per person. Probably not recommended for complete beginners, given you are pulled on a rope behind a snowmobile, so some stability and strength is needed. Itâs great fun as you swoosh along behind the snowmobile, and the views are amazing.No matter which option you choose- on a sunny day you will be awarded with stunning views and a lovely, peaceful lunch. A short menu of Tyrollean classics is served here - we opted for the steak with rösti and rösti in a pan with bacon and egg. Food and drinks both excellent. Overall a great experience and thoroughly recommended!

Skiing to Samnaun from Ischgl is great, knowing a great lunch place in Samnaun even better and this is the place to go. Our family visited a couple times this restaurant near our stay. First time they offered us a free drink until our table was ready. They have a great choice of local and italian food including pizzas. The food is good, service very friendly and proffesional, prices very reasonable. We booked earlier ( 6:30 p.m.) because afterwards you have to wait longer, since this restaurant is always fully booked.

This could be a sweet little restaurant but actually comes across as somewhat austere. The fondues are limited but though the verdict at our table was a little mixed, I thought it was good if far from outstanding. Overall perfectly pleasant but not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit.

We stayed close to this hotel restaurant and were glad to have dinner at this place. Starting from ambiance food quality, presentation and service everithing was excellent. They serve only 5 course menus but everything was cooked to perfection. We had a lunch at La Pasta restaurant, it was so good we returned the day after. The food (osso buco, pasta with salmon, cordon bleu and pasta with creamy mushroom sauce, plus deserts) we had was delicious, the wine list extensive and has lots to offer. The service is attentive, nothing was a trouble, and we were treated with a smile! Our waitress -- Magi, did a wonderful job. All in all, absolutely enjoyable lunch and we will return to try some other dishes once in Samnaun.

Just another low class, basic "mountain" style restaurant with unfriendly service and overpriced menu. We skipped the meals, as it didn't look appealing. Ordered some water (9chf !!!!!) and a house wine, which was undrinkable. Never again. Dear Mr/Mrs WinylakeWe have noted your assessment with regret and misunderstanding.You denote our Schmuggler Alm as a restaurant of the lowest category with unfriendly service and excessive menu prices. We have a lot of effort in the construction and also in the setting up of our experience restaurant and put in a lot of heart blood and love pure. Nevertheless, not every taste can be taken.We are very sorry, that you have been treated unfriendly. It is very important to us that our staff always treat our guests with a friendly approach. If this was really not implemented with you (there was no complaint on your part on site?), we would like to apologize.What we do not want to leave is that we charge excessive menu and water prices.You were at the lunch time in our restaurant, as we offer a lunch menu consisting of soup, main course and dessert, which is very popular and well-accepted with our guests. Compared to prices in the rest of Switzerland this is very cheap. Also the mineral water prices are in the Swiss-wide comparison okay.But as with everything, it is often in the eye of the beholder, whether for him especially the price-performance ratio is okay or not. We are sorry that it was not for you personally.
