Cosy setting. Gives you a good mountain and authentic feel. Strong cheese smell in restaurant. I enjoy it but not for every nose.Staff was helpful and friendly.Food was good. Had raclette. Cooked in front of firewood. My displeasure is to have been charged 68.- for.. 6 raclettes. As from your third raclette, they switch you to an all-you-can eat formula. Well we could not eat more than 3 each.I consider this to be symptomatic of Gstaad's price abuse. It may be a luxury place, but it does not entail that guests should be ostentatiously "milked". And that raclette was certainly not the tastiest I have ever tried. It was no wonder that the restaurant was almost empty at 1930. I highly encourage management to abstain from indulging in price abuse or otherwise artificially raising prices. It is indecent to ask for 68 fr. (Roughly 68 usd at today's exchange rate) for 6 raclettes.Thank you.Dear guest, thank you very much for your feedback after your dinner at our Saagi Stübli. First of all we want to briefly inform that we have two restaurants at the Hotel Gstaaderhof. In our restaurant Müli we offer french and international food, whereas in our Saagi Stübli we serve fondue (cheese and meat), raclette and meat on the hot stone only. For that reason there is always the very typical smell of cheese in the Saagi Stübli restaurant. It is a pleasure to hear that you liked the atmosphere and you appreciated the helpful and friendly service. Unfortunately you have been surprised by your check, because you had to pay CHF 68,- for 6 portions of raclette. Now we would like to specify that the price of CHF 68.- is for two people, so CHF 34.- per person. Please note furthermore that you can order a portion of raclette at CHF 12.- per portion and person. When one takes 3 portions we change to raclette âall you can eatâ at CHF 34.- per person, because it is of our guest`s advantage. With the raclette prepared on the open fire, we serve pickles and potatoes which is of course included in the price. We calculate our prices very fair on the basis of our costs and check them regularly. Furthermore we challenge our prices by benchmarking them with other restaurants in the region and in Switzerland. It is not at all our intention to âmilkâ our guests. For us it is the most important to satisfy our guests and make them feel happy and enjoy their dinner at our restaurant. To inform our guests about the prices we always hand out our menu before the order. We would be glad to welcome you again. We wish you all the best from Gstaad and remain with best regardsYour Huber family and the Gstaaderhof Team

There is nothing not to like about this place. Breathtaking views, excellent local food and actually quite reasonable prices compared to some of the comparable restaurants in Gstaad. Leave room for the meringue with fresh cream for desert and also don't forget that like most places on the mountains, it is cash only.

big, bigger, Reichenstein If you are hungry and looking for the best Steak in town, then you are very welcome to try our Steak on the hot stone. (500g Meat) We are not only known for the hot stone, as well as the Entrecôtes, Cordonbleus and much more. We
The right place for juicy beef at a decent price served with fried potato wedges, different steak sauces and somewhat exotic trimmings (slices of melon). The sirloin steak (entrecote, the way Swiss butchers trim it, without fat) can be ordered in variable sizes, up to one pounders (400 grs). It is served only rare, on a hot piece of slate. So if it is too 'bloody' for you, just cut off your serving and leave it on the hot stone to cook it to your liking. It is a popular roadside inn, nothing fancy, with people from all walks of life, from truck drivers to hedge fund managers. They have plenty other hearty fare and daily specials at very reasonable prices. Run by a couple, with the husband (ex butcher) in the kitchen and the lady taking care of the guests in an equally hearty, country-friendly type fashion, as is customary in similar restaurants in the Bernese Oberland.Dear baloisPTThank you very much for your positive rating on TripAdvisor! We do appreciate that you enjoyed your dinner at our restaurant. We look forward to serve you again soon, and wish you all the best. Yours faithfully Hanspeter Teuscher, and Erika Ueltschi

What a fabulous restaurant. The ambience is calmness personified and the food is about flavour and quality without an unnecessary level of ingredients or fussiness. We had their lunch menus which was about £65 for three courses or £80 for four courses. After the superb amuse bouche we were treated to a wonderful yellow fin tuna starter and then the absolute star of the show,,,,cavatelli and sea food that had superb flavour and texture.... a dream dish. And so we went on to a wonderful cod dish and then there was even home made meaux cheese. The wine list was excellent, particularly for the wonderful Swiss whites and service was friendly and highly professional. We left highly contented and well fed but not at all bloated......always the give away sign of well cooked and well balanced food. Without doubt one is in wonderful hands at the cesery and it was a great privilege to have eaten there.

What a find in Saanen! Hidden away, this gorgeous restaurant is worth seeking out. Book early as I think itâs a well-guarded secret of the locals! For good reason! On a lovely, warm Summer evening we sat outside on the veranda, surrounded by beautiful flowers and candles. The menu was unique, presented in a bound book, each day showing a new menu sourcing the freshest ingredients. Each meal we had was beautifully presented and faultless. Our table chose a range of salads and the mussels for entree and for the mains the trout was delicious and the beef cheeks divine. The wine list was extensive and we enjoyed some beautiful Swiss wines. Totally recommend this place! It was the best meal of our week in Saanen/Gstaad. DEAR GUEST, What a wonderful comment you have posted! We are truly blessed and would like to express our sincere thaks. It is always great if our guests can feel the vibe, the passion and that everything we do and deliver is made with love. The garden is just stunning at the moment you are travelling at the most wonderful season of the year with all the roses and blossoms accompagnied by this lovely smell all over.We hope welcoming you back soon for another tasty meal with beautiful Swiss wines. All the best and see you soon!

It was a cool summer evening, we decided to eat inside instead of on the cobbled street just outside the hotel. Decided against the fondue, which some others seemed to be enjoying. Salad with mountain cheese and escargots for starters, brilliant. The cheese is special. Mains of steak and fish, both done perfectly. Lastly dessert to share, of summer berries with cream, rounded the meal off very nicely. Have no hesitation is recommending this restaurant and would definitely return on our next stay in Gstaad.

We went there based on the reviews by Tripadvisior and were certainly pleased with our overall experience. All the fish were fresh, yummy and nicely presented. The salads were tasty. The restaurant setting was quite cute on the edge of a tiny lake. Our server Tommy was extremely nice, cheerful and helpful. The flies were in abundance and were very irritating but I guess there was very little the restaurant could do about it. It seemed that the other customers who were probably locals were used to them and were not overly bothered by them. The reason I took away one star was because they charged us extra on a few things .. the fries came with a couple of dishes as sides but they still charged us $9 and $6 for 2 portions. They charged us $6 for a side salad which again was supposed to be a side dish. They charged us a bit extra for drinks and then charged us $4 each for 4 glasses of hot tap water at the end of our dinner. We were also charged for drinking tap water which came in the beginning of our dinner. In most of the restaurants in Switzerland they donât charge you for tap water as long as you are ordering regular drinks. A bill which should have been around Fr 630 came to Fr 682. I questioned the server but did not get a satisfactory reply so I paid the 682 Fr as I did not want to spoil our otherwise wonderful dinner evening. All in all a good restaurant.
