A very cozy nicely appointed traditional Swiss restaurant, with extensive wood paneling and ample space between tables. The all - female service team is very friendly, competent and swift. The food is traditional comfort cooking at its best. Starters, entrées and deserts are tasty and generous, no one is likely to leave here craving more food. Solid wine list, we selected the locally sourced Schwyz Chardonnay house wine which was nicely chilled and refreshingly crisp. A good experience, a few steps away from the world - famous Einsiedeln Abbey and its venerated black madonna in the beautiful main church.

This place was recommended because of their meat dishes as have their own butchery... we and our gourmand friends decided to have most their meat dishes cordon bleu, steak, most served with fries and rice and a soup... meat dishes were, well, nothing special... my soup was very salty, tasted and looked exactly the same like in other places... a ready to cook preparation just add boiling water, more salt and maybe some Aromat... Is a kids friendly place. There is a special kids menu, more or less the same but smaller portions. The only thing what we appreciated the most was the wine ordered; a red Swiss wine matured inside the monastery ....The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, with wooden finishings, everything in order and cleaned as most Swiss standards.Service was unnecessarily hasty since the restaurant wasn't full, the waitress could took it easy with us but looked that she wanted to finish asap, everything cleared and cleaned!... just wanted to continue to finish the fries from the dish, turned to talk and then suddenly the dish was disappeared from the table...Maybe having bratwursts, mulled wine and other hot snacks at the Christmas market stands were of better value than this dining experience but it was so Arctic freezing outside...Guten Tag Tuali,Danke für Ihre Bewertung,Leider haben wir anscheinend nicht Ihre Wünsche erfüllen können. I want to recommend this restaurant. I had a delicious lamb medallion dish & my husband ate a venison dish. The proprietors were lovely. Friendly, efficient and their English was so good they understood our humour. The place itself seemed like an old house, with a lovely ambience. Not very expensive, either.

I have been here several times and always appreciate the warm atmosphere and great, friendly service. The Restaurant Schifflände, has a speciality: Chicken in the basket. This restaurant is mostly known for this speciality and it is totally worth it to drive all the way from Zurich to try this chicken. The service is also very friendly and motivated which is a rare thing in Switzerland and makes one always very happy. Great place!

We wanted to stay at this hotel but it was unfortunately full. We decided nonetheless to go there for dinner and had a lovely time. Good simple food, freshly prepared (we could see the kitchen perfectly well from our places!) and beautifully presented. The staff was very welcoming and smiling. The bill was reasonable!

This is an iconic cafe / bakery that is always packed. There are two sections, the pattesserie / bakery and the cafe / restaurant. There is a huge variety making it difficult to choose. In the cafe there are just a couple of items for normal people, everything is for carnivores. I ha dthe celery soup of the day and the caprese salad. The soup was cream based and not bad. The sald was disappointing. The tomatoes were cherry tomatoes and the dried olives garnish was too hard.Dear ZenHealer7, Thanks for eating at our restaurant and your reviewing. We were there with the family (2 adults, 2 kids) and the restaurant staff were very accomodating as we did not have a reservation. They really made certain we had a place even though it was hectic. The food was great too.

Unlike most reviews here, we visited the restaurant only, since it was a Sunday.Had a plate of 8 cheese types, was served with wonderful bread and 3 dips, and all tasted great.Felt like a local kind of place for families who meet up for a Sunday brunch.I guess there are not many tourists here since no one could speak English, but still felt great.Hi outlandish83Thanks for your voting. Indeed on sunday we do have our Buure Zmorge / "Farmer-Breakfast" that is very popular for locals. but we also have Special arrangements for tourists like a guided tour behind the scenes or "making our own cheese", which is possible to do in english.Hope you did enyou your stay. Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Absolutely awesome service, freshly prepared dishes, all home-made. Cannot rave about this restaurant enough. We had one vegetarian in our group and the chef prepared a marvelous mushroom pasta dish that was amazing. This small restaurant outranks some of the finest largest establishments I have had the opportunity to enjoy in all my travels.
