We chose to book ahead at this lovely Swiss Auberge after reading good reviews and we were certainly impressed. My husband chose the steak after reading it was good and he was very happy, as was I with my chevre chaud salad - very ample portions, delicious! The local beers were also excellent The atmosphere was lovely, very busy, seated near an open window very comfortable. Highly recommend for a typical Swiss experience in GenevaDear Margaret,Thank you very much for letting us know more about your recent experience at the restaurant. Needed to make sure to have fondue in Geneva. This restaurant is a favorite of friends and came highly recommended. Glad we were able to get reservations. The restaurant is on the hill of the old town. So, the setting is beautiful and romantic. The fondue was great. Service was attentive.Lovely evening.

We had two lovely steaks cooked the way we like them, medium, medium rare. The desserts we had were cheesecake and trio of desserts (crème brulee, chocolate mouse, and lemon meringue). All washed down with a nice half bottle of house red wine. The service was good and the atmosphere just right. It was a good birthday dinner. The bill was chf156 which included a hefty chf10 for 80cl of water. Don't think there is a need to charge so much for water.

It is a classic french restaurant with a mom, pop, and son service. The food is excellent. Nothing groundbreaking, but excellent, which is exactly what good restaurants should strive for. The service was very friendly and adorable, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend the place to everyone.

I don't have much to say... I turned up (it was just me), asked for a table for 1, and the woman was really rude. She said something in French, and I said I don't understand, do you speak English (in French). She just shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the door. She couldn't have cared less...

We were 2 couples with varied tastes and food issues. All was catered for. Lovely presentation and delicious food. Two of us had a very unusual soup made from Fennel and olive paste with cashew-nuts.( Fenolive) The caviar-beluga (lentils with pomegranate seeds) was a delight. Variety of bread rolls freshly baked at the auberge was a pleasure too. The highlight for me was the dessert. Yummy.Hello Harscharajan,Many thanks for your kind comment, and we are very happy that you had a nice time with us.We are looking forward seeing you soon.A&P@3Coqs

I would recommend this for a decent steak, nice and relaxed with good and friendly service. Locals use this place mainly for the quality of the steak. Not overpriced.

Le Café du Soleil is one of the oldest restaurant in Geneva (around 400 years old), well known for serving the best fondue and delicious malakoffs. Our restaurant also offers a varied menu to satisfy everybody and daily specials for lunch made with love.
This is an amazingly buzzy and busy restaurantSundayLunch was great, reasonable priced and the food was as good as fondue gets a Must Go

We escaped a convention at the PalExpo and walked across the street to this highly recommended restaurant for lunch. We had the special, with included a steak, fried potatoes and salad. Wine was extra, and we had a very good Swiss Gamay. Price came to about $58 each, which is a very good value in Switzerland. I liked the stuffed grizzly bear in the foyer & the fact the chef personally met the guests as they entered.

After walking around for a while on a hot day, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. The guy who served us was very friendly, but I think he was very busy, and this affected our service. The food was average and really expensive even for Swiss standards. The desserts were nice, but I probably would not back to this place.
