Loud voices at the bar. Dark wood. Local atmosphere. But definitely cosy. Details and attention. Not an ordinary bistrot at all. Impressive blackboard : Red-cabbage velouté with pheasant, Wild-boar rack, Assiette valaisanne (generous choice of local meat & cheese). And a delicious dessert called Dessert de Maman (the latter standing for the owner's mother, originally from Brittany) : a melting delicacy served with salt butter caramel. Not to be missed !

Really worth the detour, nice hikes and snowshoeing around the area. Friendly service, and fantastic food, the terrace is gorgeous and sitting outside in February on fluffy sheepskins, just wonderful. A few daily suggestions but no "plat du jour", some slightly pricey for a mountain lunch. Suggest Salade au chèvre chard it's DIVINE

Unsurprisingly there are plenty of restaurants in Switzerland that focus on cheese. Having had a look online this seemed to be one of the best rated ones in the region. It's located pretty high up so the views (from the street) are spectacular. The menu has all of the usual fondues, raclettes and variations thereof as well as some other dishes. Of course you don't go to a cheese restaurant and order a steak so we had raclette and very delicious and generous (as much as you could manage!) it was too. If you want somewhere that ticks all of the very traditional Swiss boxes and serves tasty food then make a stop here.

We returned to this restaurant today after a very long absence and were delighted to find the food was as good as we remembered.Salad for starters- very good- then beef fillet with morel sauce accompanied by rosti and vegetables- delicious.A superb bottle of Baton Rouge from 2010 (made from Barbera and Sangiovese) completed the meal.

Impeccable presentation and fantastic flavours. We were truly spoilt with amazing course after course. My spider crab starter was so good. Also what a cheese selection there was a cheese I tried which I would love to know what it was called if anyone from the restaurant reads this.If everyone gets treated as special as we did here then what you waiting for book a table! Also Iâm not a sweet person but the lemon meringue lollipop- very very specialThank you

Il locale si trova all'entrata del paese
The interior is at the leftside modern and with much light and the right side more conventional with much wood. We prefered the modern part at the room. The food is outstanding and also very beatifull servedThe service is very friendly and also quickWhat we could respect was the possiblity to ask for a glass of wine and that at a reasonable price

Most of the tables are inside and you must reserve as the restaurant is not very big. The food is excellent, nicely presented in your plate. The service is very nice and very efficient. Keep some space for the desserts which are excellent and that you may reserve when you order to be sure to have them.

French, italian as well as delicious local traditional swiss food. Everything is made on the spot from fresh, local ingredients.
Very cosy traditional Swiss restaurant in Villars village. Generally the food was excellent and the service was good. Two of our group had Raclette. Here it's done the old fashioned way - cheese melted over a real wood fire - and you'll have cheese with a wonderful smoky flavour as a result. They will need two people minimum to be having Raclette, to set up and light the wood fire (which is fair enough).Highly recommended!

Nestled amongst the mountains, Le Refuge de Frience offers a cozy, warm respite from the rigours of the stunning natural beauty that surrounds it. Whether taking a break from the summer sun for a refreshing drink, or enjoying satisfying, traditional Swiss
My wife and I had an impromptu dinner at this excellent mountain restaurant where the food and wine was excellent and highly recommended. Moreover next to the restaurant a swimming lake has been created with a lively beach, bbqs and beautiful views. Well worth a visit and free entrance. It will be a great pleasure to welcome you and your wife at your next visit.
