If you are craving for Fondue or Raclette this is then the place to go in the best environment of the old city of Gruyeres , you will not be deceived and will be able to taste authentic local food.Stay in Gruyeres for 4 days and had 3 times dinner at Le chalet.Highly recommended

La carte est ultra courte très peu de choix de plat chaud à part les fondues ,les macaronis comme partout .Mais ce qui choque ce sont les portions ridicules qui sont servis dans une région où la générosité est de mise pour un prix trop élevé .est il nécessaire de faire autant de km sur cette mauvaise route si étroite pour être déçu.

I went to this restaurant for lunch and was most pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The business lunch is great value for money. I strongly recommend this place. Make sure you book your table in advance.

We stopped for lunch at this restaurant and were pleasntly surprised. The quality of the food is excellent and the beer cold. I had a plate of sliced roast beed with french fries and mixed salad. The beef was cooked perfectly - crusted brown on the outside and red in the centre. I should have taken a photo but was too busy enjoying it! We sat outside with a view of mountains and the lake. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

A nice place to have drink and or eat some simple plats offer in a small carte with a nice cheese plats from the Gruyere area... On the terrace you will enjoy good food with also nice wines offer.

Commençons par le biens: Excellente nourriture à un prix décent dans un joli cadre, la petite terrasse à l'étage est biens agréable en été, a l'abris des bruit de la route et avec vue sur les Préalpes. Continuons par le moins biens: Arrivée dans un restaurant vide ou ce sont les habitués en trains de boire un verre qui indiquent après un temps d'attente par ou se diriger si on désire manger (merci a eux). Vaisselle ébréchée, je ne suis pas trop difficile mais dans un restaurant cela me semble inacceptable et il ne s'agissait pas que d'un seul ustensile. Service moyen, sourire que l'on sent commercial, efficacité sans rapport avec la faible occupation quand nous y fumes. La nourriture est quand même l'élément essentiel, ce n'est donc pas grave, mais c'est dommage de détériorer un repas pour des petits détails facilement améliorables.

Just outside Broc but well off the beaten track. Web site has GPS coordinates.Inside it is the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. The dining area is divided into three separate parts: The main part has a open fire in one corner. Behind the counter is a small back room and up a fairly steep ladder are tables for about 20 people.The menu is classic alpages: Soupe du Chalet, Cornets (Like Macaroni), Smoked Ham hot or cold, Choucroute, a variety of dried sausages, Cheese Fondue and cold platters with Viande Sechée, Sausages, Cheese and cornichons. The wine list is simple and local and reasonably priced.Service is friendly and pretty prompt.We enjoy it and recommend it to anyone who likes simple uncomplicated fare.

We came to Charmey for the Bain de Greuyer - and this was a perfect addition to the day's program! Excellent friendly service, swiss quality of meal, beautiful view behind the window, it jut couldn't get any better!

We have had a lunch today in this restaurant and everything has changed since the winter! The menu is quite exquisite with herbs and salads that are freshly picked. Delicious cooking for adults that look for the best but no special menu for the kids. It would be a fine idea to have special dishes for them. A place where I long to come back soon!
