Things to do in Orsa
A small restaurant and deli focusing on local and unique Swedish products. We provide personable customer service and high quality food.
Nice restaurant with good home made food. Unfortantely the preperation took some time because there was a big group upfront. They are running the restaurant with 2 persons. Delicious food.

We set off on a bicycle tour of the lake with a promise of long lunch in the village of Orsa. The area is not short of fabulous scenery - pine dressed hillsides, picturesque waterways and delightful cottages. Brasserie Orsa overlooks all this and a serene lake. The restaurant is a little out of the village but easy to find and seemed very popular with locals taking their lunch too. We found a table outside on a balcony and tucked into a fresh and plentiful soup and salad buffet. Others availed themselves of more substantial meals which also looked tasty. There was plenty of choice, many tempting dishes and we were able to go back for second helpings. Coffee and tea was included in the price and we couldnât resist a little dessert.

Nice setting and location, super cosy and traditional inside seating. However the ordinary menu incl prefabricated pancakes pulls down the experience rating. Also the young and very nice staff struggle to meet demand in terms of long time to food serving. Also when we visited there were no glasses available as dishwashing or number of glasses seemed to be a bottle neck.

Smidgården i Fryksås, situated in an old summer farm with wonderful views, has a cafe and restaurant and cabins to rent. We also have a spa with spa treatments which you can book in advance.
We rented the bottom floor of the large cabin, Drängen, and had a fantastic stay. This is a small hotel with only a few rooms/cabins, so it gives you a very genuine stay in Fryksås. It's only 1.5 km and a lovely hike or ski trip (depending on season) from Grönklitt, and the Rovdjursparken. The house was very spacious and gives your family lots of space, and direct access to the common grounds and the BBQ pit outside. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and makes you feel part of the family. They have two calfs which was very exciting for our son. There are also a nice little spa section in the main building that's available for rent. It's maybe a bit pricey, but we got a discount which was very nice. I wish we were staying more than two nights.

FryksÃ¥s Hotell & Gestgifveri FryksÃ¥s Hotels - an extraordinary experience. Our hotel is in one of Swedenâs oldest and largest pasture environments, a historic site 10 km from Orsa in Dalarna. We promise that you will get an aha moment when after 10 km in
We went for a rather late lunch and chose the lunch menu. Unfortunately they had run out of the main course meat option. Not the slightest problem - the charming waitress went to talk to the chef and they produced a delicious and generous reindeer fillet instead. Good food, excellent service and an incomparable view.
