Went the other night. Huge menu and separate menu for sushi appetizers. I had the Shrimp Tempura which was very nice and filling. The friend rice was so-so. Others at the table ordered lots of sushi and were not disappointed. Overall, nice evening, great atmosphere. Next time will try the hibachi tables.

Love Sushi

Have been to three other sushi places in Simi Valley; my love for sushi started in New York City and was sustained in San Diego, California = I know good sushi. Have been eating regularly at one of the three, but after trying Love Sushi (for lunch after a quick trip to Target!), it will be my new "regular." The hand rolls are humongous and outrageously good! Had the spicy tuna hand roll (an all time favorite) and tried their Monster roll (appropriately named). It had salmon tempura, a deep fried jalapeno and this wonderful crab/shrimp mix. The third roll was a cut one, Blooming onion roll, so creative and yummy. Prices were less expensive that my former favorite, and the three rolls filled my husband and I to the brim (that has NEVER happened before!) Try LOVE SUSHI!

Sushi Tanaka does NOT serve commonly found California rolls or "combination" dinners etc. Sushi Tanaka, instead focuses on extraordinary Sushi and Omakase (if you are new to it, do check it out) style meals. This is a small little place, in Simi Valley (I can't get over that) that probably has the best Sushi anywhere in LA - yup; including the spots in Beverly Hills or Onyx @ Four Seasons etc. Omakase prices (2 options - $60 or $100, depending on how many courses you want) are reasonable for what you get - especially if you consider the quality of food and saving a round-trip ticket to Japan :)

For the price of all-you-can-eat, this place serves the best tuna sushi in town, which is the key to determining the quality of fish you're going to be served. Friendly wait staff, and great selection of menu options for one reasonable price!

Service was slow and just seemed disorganized staff. We ordered an appetizer right away and it didn't show up until our meal did, really! Sushi was OK nothing special, did like the zucchini tempura, very tasty. I believe we had been here before and seems to me it was nothing to brag about either.

Hikari Sushi Bar

Pretty decent all you can eat sushi with a nice selection of appetizers, rolls, specials and nigiri. Not the best fish nor freshest fish (most likely frozen at these prices). The raw oysters and albacore nigiri were a bit sketchy tasting but didn't have an ill effects. For the money and for what it is, the food was good and a good value for the money. Not my first choice for sushi but great for an inexpensive lunch to satisfy that sushi craving. I would try it again.

Sake 2 Me Sushi

I came her with a group of about 8 friends for dinner one night for the sushi buffet. Overall I was disappointed with the experience. The sushi options seemed somewhat limited in comparisons to other sushi restaurants and some of the rolls I ordered did not seem very fresh. The biggest issue I had was that they charge you accordingly if you do not eat of the food you ordered on the all you can eat menu. I understand the fish is not cheap and they want to prevent people from over ordering and wasting food, but who charges you extra for not eating all of your food?? Seems a little ridiculous to me. If you are worried about loosing money by offering all you can eat, just don’t offer it…

Golden Panda Buffet

Reviewed By 680lindao

This restaurant is occupying the building where the Elephant Bar used to be on Madera Road. We discovered it by happy accident and enjoy eating there every week or two. The buffet is about one third sushi, one quarter salads and fruit, and the rest is various delicious Japanese dishes like pot stickers, chicken, pork chops, tempura vegetables. On the weekends they add raw oysters, delicious and plentiful sashimi. They have a selection of cookies, puddings and other sweets for dessert but also have an "Ice cream wheel" where you can ask for any flavor of ice cream they have and will be served one or two scoops. There is also a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and bananas available as well as other fruits for "dipping." The service is good, servers friendly but don't speak much English. During the week you can get all you can eat for $10.99 per person. The weekends are a few dollars more but still well worth it. It's a great place to take guests visiting you from out of town for a good meal but not too much money.

I’ve spent a few weeks on business travel in the Simi Valley area and came upon the Blue Fin for dinner one evening. I was impressed and have returned five times over the past four weeks. Great food and service. The restaurant is usually pretty quiet during week nights and I haven’t had a bad meal. The bread pudding is the best I’ve ever had.
