Reviews on Sushi food in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Probably best known for its eponymous beer, Sapporo—the capital of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island—has maintained the youthful and open atmosphere of the 1972 Olympic Winter Games, drawing international visitors for its annual Snow Festival and its world-famous ramen. Those seeking out the full diversity of Japanese cuisine will want to visit: a city with a ramen-inspired theme park is one that embraces and pampers foodies.

I go out often for sushi and this is the best of the kaitenzushi choices. Have had friends rave about Toriton, but after one visit they too became Nagoyakatei regulars. Have been to many of their branch restaurants, and all are very good, but that means if you go after 6 pm you will usually have to wait. I always try to time a visit well before 6 pm, or after 8 pm to avoid the lines.

This sushi restaurant was more upscale than most. The ambiance was beautiful, crisp, clean, simple, detailed. The sushi was very fresh. Personally, it was the best I've had in Japan over the years; for casual dining. The menu was more unique than others. They had Hokkaido roasted potatoes for example. This is unusual among sushi. I liked it. I would come here everyday if I could. We queued up a long time. There are small chairs while joining the queue; we sat among the locals. It seemed like forever; but maybe it was just over 30 minutes. Despite this wait, I think the experience and food was well worth the wait. The servers were not attentive; but never rude. You would need to flag them down each time you make an order. This takes a while. You can say, it was very slow service when you're feeling hungry. There was very little English spoken by the staff; but pointing worked ok. I spoke with a local Japanese lady seated next to me in the queue. After sharing her life story for 20 minutes, she said this was one of the better sushi places around in her opinion. I'm guessing she is referring to the food only. There are mostly locals here. This tripadvisor post in mostly written by locals. Translated, there were mostly good words. This restaurant is in the Sapporo JR Paseo tower, B1.

One would be expected to wait for approximately 30~45 mins during the peak (meal time) hours. It can be easily found on the 6th floor of Stellar Place, which is right on top of Sapporo Station. Please remember to take a queue number at the front of the restaurant instead of going directly to 'join the visible queue' right in front of the restaurant. The queue is in fact not a queue but just a couple of seats to let their customers have a foot rest (some seats are provided) while they are waiting for their turns. The waiteress /usher will call out your number in "Japanese" when your turn is up. Fret not if you do not understand Japanese as you can just walk to the front counter where you had picked your number earlier to take a look at what number it is currently on the 'turn' ticket machine. As for the Sushi, I guess nothing more need to be said as one can easily read (see those pictures) from other reviews. The sushi are fresh and good for the price one is paying for sure. Enjoy!

Go to this restaurant to have an authentic sushi experience. It's located far from the downton and somewhat hard to find, but it's worth the trouble of getting there. I was well received and very well served. I asked for ãä»»ã and the chef chose great pieces until I had enough. Recommended if you visit Sapporo!

It's a great restaurant with good sashimi and sushi. Price very reasonable and nice environment. Service is also excellent. Reason I didn't give the excellent grade is because of communication problem. One of the reason seating at the sushi bar is to talk to the sushi chef and chat about the food . And obviously I could do that. The chef only can say the name of fish he served. Also the restaurant is so quiet and even the waitress talked in a very low voice that I can hardly hear. That's why I didn't quite enjoy the meal.

This restaurant right on the 6th floor of Stellar Place is just on top of the JR station. Be prepare to wait in line for half an hour before you are seated anytime every day of the week. But once you are in you can enjoy yourself on all types of Sushi including tuna and uni. Although the fish is frozen at least the salmon they take great care to prepare the sushi and they are very fresh. We had 38 dishes and unbelievably the bill was only Y9300,Highly recommended.

Food here is excellent - sashimi and sushi comes in so many different varieties. The crab and fish soup were so tasty we couldnt get enough of it. The price is reasonable compared to other restaurants we have eaten in Sapporo. We came back twice because it was so good and value for money

I was staying at Guest house Waya and this restaurant was nearby. When we entered, we have to take number for table. There is a lot of people either for lunch or dinner. This restaurant is open from 11am until night. First time we waited for 45 minutes for our table. The sushi is priced from ï¿¥120yen to ï¿¥530yen (exclude 8% tax). The sushi and sashimi are very fresh and big portion! We went for twice. We waited 40minutes for second visit. Worth for waiting, no regret!

Super fun ambience, delicious fresh sushi and so reasonably priced. So long as you have a plan as to how you will spend the inevitable waiting time (shopping, going for a beer, sleeping in the queue...) you will not be disappointed. We went twice in two days.

Great restaurant for sushi lovers! They have an English menu, and some of the staff can speak a little English as well. Easy to find from the station (10 minute walk). Crab paste sushi was delicious, and so was everything else we ordered. Our first conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido. Very satisifying experience! Oishi!!
