We stopped in fr a business lunch, but only because we wanted Japanese food, not to do the entire teppanyaki show too. So, we sat in the bar area at a regular table. We were told that the service would be slower there, which was fine considering we had business to discuss. Overall, the wait wasn't very long. But the food we ordered came out looking less than appetizing. It tasted nice, but looked like it was scraped together from leftovers from one of the teppanyak grills that were cooking up entrees for the other guests.Again, the food tasted decent, but the service was slightly lacking, presentation completely lacking and overall we just weren't impressed, especially for the amount paid. Might be better at dinner.

Stafford small business serving up authentic Thai food and the freshest sushi in the area since March 2011
Great sushi and Thai food. A helpful note: The curry is naturally spicy. Unless you can eat a fresh jalapeño whole without sipping some water, I suggest going for the mild dish. With that being said, fully recommend this gem in Stafford, VA.

Umi's is by far one of the best restaurant in the north Stafford area. It is clean, the food is fresh, and the service is fabulous. They offer plenty of free parking in their parking lot and are easy to get to. We have gone several times and have always had excellent food. Their sushi is the best, but their other menu items such as tempura or noodles are excellent as well. The wait staff has alway been friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers a long bar area as well as a nice dining room.

We just fell on this place while looking for something other than fast food nearby. The reviews are right. This is a good local sushi bistro. The Bento beef box was good, not fantastic and the asparagus were a bit tough. But the sushi deluxe was excellent with 9 pieces, 2 of each kind. With the miso soup and salad that came with it, we had more than enough food. All for $53 before tax including one wine and one beer. Well worth it.

Whenever we are in Northern Va and crave some Chinese food, this was our go to place.....usually all dishes are well prepared and tasty....not today! Shrimp fried rice was off...too much soy sauce....they don't usually add soy sauce...beef teriyaki was ok....a little salty ...the spring rolls which are usually veggie, were horrible....chewy not flakey or crisp....Maybe they have a new cook?Luckily we did not order a lot of food as we were not that hungry....This real bummed me out as WE always loved the Asian restaurant....so will we try again? Maybe we will give it one more try however we will also be searching for a new Chinese restaurant in this area.

We stopped in here one night for supper and were glad we did.My wife got the Chicken Bento Box, and she loved it. I got the Curry Don, and I did find the curry flavor weak and there was no heat in the curry, but it was still very good.We wouldn't hesitate to go back and recommend you try it if you are in the area.
