Maputo, the lush capital of Mozambique, sits on the shore of the Indian Ocean. Founded as a port town by the Portuguese, the influence of travelers and traders from Africa, Asia, and Europe, has made the city a diverse and lively metropolis. The area is famous for its prawns in peri-peri sauce, a spicy concoction made from an especially hot African chili pepper. Calm down your taste buds afterwards with a beer at one of the many bars and nightclubs in the Fere de Populare neighborhood.

Relatively new sushi bar located at one of the busiest intersections in town, sporting stylish decor and furnishing in black which lends an international feel to the place. Quite an interesting contrast to the traditional African street life happening right next on the sidewalk. After a couple of visits, my impression is that the sushi is fresh and well prepared, and nicely presented. However the pricing is not good. Sushi is never cheap, this is no exception, but as the pieces here are so small I almost needed magnifying glass to spot the makis, the value is poor. I expect not having to leave hungry after consuming a 14 piece platter, but that's what happens here. Also they do not offer the sushi bar staple miso soup, which would have proven a perfect starter. I have no doubt this will eventually become a great place for getting my sushi fix, but some work still remains to get there.

Located in the same premises as the Restaurant Campo di Fiori in the Jardim dos Cronistas, the WabiSabi restaurant benefits from its very pleasant surroundings. The sushi is fresh and tasty- it has actually improved since the beginning- even though a bit westernized. I would appreciate it if the menu could add one or 2 salads, especially including seaweeds.
This was the first time we have seen this place. We walked in to find out what they offered. Their business card says the restaurants makes sushi combinations, has live music on Fridays and Saturdays, and also rents space for events. We had only coffee and a ham & cheese sandwich. Coffee was strong & good and the sandwich was also tasty. Prices were not cheap. There was no one else at the restaurant at 10.30 a.m. Actually it was not really the time people ate breakfast. Anyway the restaurant looked fairly decent though nothing spectacular. Music probably was a bit too loud for a morning hour. We will need to come back for sushi sometime.

Japanese restaurant in Maputo
This is a discreet restaurant located in a residence, offering inside and outdoor space to clients. The veranda next to the pool is pleasant. The service is excellent and friendly. The menu offers authentic Japanese cuisine, besides the classic sushi. The food is tasty and fresh. When we ate our lunch, each dish was served as it was made available by the cook. The result was that my son and myself did not eat at the same time...Some people might prefer to eat together. The parking is definitely an issue. Thanks for your review !!We are so happy that you enjoyed our food !!We have shared your feed back with all staffs. We are trying to provide more good service for our customers.and about the parking, when you come to our place, please call us.We will prepare the space for you.Hope to see you soon !!

Small restaurant with relaxed atmosphere and courteous waiters, serving great Japanese and Korean dishes. The presentation of the sushi platters is a feast for eyes, especially the "dhows" that come fully loaded with sushi pieces. The prices are in the high end so visits are far between, but very much worth it once in a while.

We had a platter that featured langostino, prawns, white fish and calamari. Quantity was excellent, but would have like bigger prawns. Average selection of wines. Prices lower than other similar seafood restaurants. Service was excellent

This restaurant is located in prime area of Maputo, which is Julius Nyerere Avenue. I was recommended by a friend as he knows that I love sushi. We visited and it was around 9 pm on a weekday. The restaurant had few clients that time. Mostly on the bar area. We went on the 1st floor and ordered a platter of sushi and a Pizza. Both the dishes were really tasty. The sushi was fresh and inviting. The prices are average. Service was slow, the servant was always away. I 'll give another try. Overall I recommend. The restaurant has a great variety of dishes.
