Reviews on Sushi food in Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa. Knysna stands out on South Africa's famed Garden Route thanks to the sandstone cliffs that dramatically separate its tranquil lagoon from the pounding surf of the Indian Ocean. It's also home to the country's largest indigenous forest. Hop aboard a ferry for a ride through the scenic highlights. The Millwood Mines at Jubilee Creek, site of a major gold rush in 1885, provide a picturesque spot for a picnic. Be sure to try some local oysters during the renowned annual festival.

My Chinese friend was desperate for Chinese food so I took her to Asamiâs. The only dish she liked was the soup. The noodles were terrible and we left most uneaten. I liked the Tempura prawns but thatâs Japanese, not Chinese. The view at night was nice and we sat outside.

At Ocean Basket Garden Route Mall you'll find friendly people, a home-from-home feeling and great value for your hard-earned bucks.
Visiting south Africa for the first time, this was our first "Ocean Basket" experience, and it was definitely not the last. The fish was amazingly fresh, well served and a very good price. I also tried the sushi which was amazing. The location of this restaurant was great on Knysna waterfront. Need this chain to reach the UK

yes, there is a huge lack of ambiance and decent decor, but I came for the food. it's not high end Asian food, neither is it 100% authentic, which is understandable, given the location, but I liked it. I particularly enjoyed one of the soups that we ordered. Possible 'hot and sour'.

Stumbled on this place for an early evening drink and meal after a hard day's driving. Didn't know what to expect but was approached by Yvon, who I believe is the head waiter. He was really helpful and explained the different restaurants and bars on the two levels. He advised us to go upstairs to a decking area with fantastic views over the Knysna lagoon. We stayed here havingdrinks and our meal whilst watching the sun go down over the lagoon. I had the line caught fish of the day, which I believe was yellow fish. My daughter is very much into her wines and Zami, our waiter, was very knowledgeable about these. We took his advice and were not disappointed. Zami was very friendly and helpful throughout. Although this establishment is very modern, and in a very modern part of the harbour, I can highly recommend it.

A fun, vibey tapas restaurant situated on Thesen Island at the waters edge. Live music, sushi, global tapas and friendly service. A place not to be missed...
We ordered oysters tempura (not good), pan prawns (rice was burnt) and two more dishes. One never arrived. Desserts such as malva pudding and brownie were great but the cheesecake, no flavour of cheese anywhere! We paid 614R including tip.

Whilst in Knysna, we ate here a couple of times as it was very convenient to our hotel and the food and staff were excellent with a good menu including sushi. Upstairs there is a cocktail bar which was also nice with friendly staff. Our only disappointment was that both places closed quite early as it was out of season.

I was in town for work and decided to leave my party and try the dry dock again. The service was casual, but the food was not good. I ordered Grilled prawns and asked for a salad. The prawns were too spiced although I had ordered plain. To get a salad dressing Olive oil and balsamic was a challenge. My waiter tried, but he had been inadequately trained. The result was a disappointing meal.

Not exactly a restaurant... Not exactly a bar... Definitely not a deli... Well, not exactly a deli... It's an eating place, a drinking place and definitely a meeting place. And it's a gift shop, a clothing emporium, a food store, a fish monger and a baker
Hi My wife and I regularly go to 34. This last time was very disappointing. in the past the food was always good value. We went for breakfast and ordered our usual. The Special was R60 including Coffee. My wife however ordered the Oopsie Breakfast which was R69 (Inc Coffee) but now R80. When we ordered we asked if the Oopsie still came with Coffee, and yes was the reply. When we received the bill the Oopsie was R80 + R26 for Coffee = so yes!!! R106. Okay so big price difference. When we queried the price, the waitress said that she would remove the coffee from the bill, but that it would now come out of her pay. This made us feel very guilty. We asked why the restaurant wouldn't cover the cost.I was quite disgusted that a well known, restaurant on Knysna Quay of all places, feels its okay to take wages from an already low paid waitress, when they are dealing with a billing dispute. We have traveled to many places and never have I seen a restaurant feel its okay to take advantage of staff who already dont earn very much. Also that Customers are made to feel guilty when they dispute the bill.Kind of penny wise but pound foolish. I just wonder how many people would eat at their restaurant, knowing how they do business.

I placed my over the phone completely hassle-free and didn't have to repeat myself once (which almost never happens). Our order was ready right on time and all the food was delicious with big portions. All three of us had starters and mains, and the bill was surprisingly low. I would definitely recommend Thai Eatery for anyone who wants delicious Thai food without the fuss of DIY.
