Iquique (Spanish pronunciation: [iˈkike]) is a port city and commune in northern Chile, capital of both the Iquique Province and Tarapacá Region. It lies on the Pacific coast, west of the Pampa del Tamarugal which is part of Atacama Desert. It had a population of 180,601 according to the 2012 census. It is also the main commune of the Greater Iquique. The city developed during the heyday of the saltpetre mining in Atacama Desert in the 19th century. Originally a Peruvian city with a large Chilean population, it was ceded to Chile as result of War of the Pacific (1879–1883). Today it is one of only two free ports of Chile.

We became absolutely obsessed with this place during our trip to Iquique! There are a lot of sushi places about in the town, but this is definitely the best value for money and the best standard. The staff are friendly and the sushi is just fab! A few times we ate in and a few times we took our food away to eat on the beach. Was so yummmmm on all occasions!!
muy buena opción , para comer ricos sushi , todos los dÃas tienen promociones , y una gran variedad de frÃos y calientes, recomendable.

Apart from the fabulous views from Kai Sushi, you also get great food, reasonably priced wine, and attentive service. We had salad, various rolls, and sashimi. It was all incredibly fresh and very tasty. Some of the items seemed a little unconventional (we've never had breaded prawns in a maki roll before) but it worked well. Prices are good. This was much better than some other sushi places we've been to in Iquique.

We found the food to be good without being anything special. The service was pretty unfriendly when we were there and we found everything to be a bit overpriced. We found another sushi place that was amazing (Misaki fusion) and ate there instead for the rest of our stay!

La Mulata Restaurant, feature in its dishes the great flavors of peruvian cuisine, and NIKKEI style food (peruvian and japanese fusion)
La Mulata is a sea front restaurant that has a great selection of dishes. The service is one of the best Iâve had, kind, quick and happy to help. The place is divided in two areas, a more private area and an area with a view of the beach. Obviously the latter is my recommendation. The prices are good considering plate size, location and overall experience (I actually consider it almost cheap - but lets keep that between us!)The plates are brilliant: textures, flavours and freshness.Iâve been here many times so I really do recommend just about everything, but one thing that I love are the âConchitas con salsa de maracuyaâ, exquisite!A must.
