We went to Mojo Japanese Kitchen for a celebration with friends and family. The waitress explained how the ordering system worked. Orders are placed on an iPad at the table and the plates are then brought to the table. She explained that any uneaten food is charged for, we thought this was fair enough and presumably is to avoid food being ordered and not even tried. The food was fresh but for me the novelty of ordering via the iPad wore off quite quickly. We made sure we didnât over order to make sure we didnât waste anything. A few very small items were left, not whole dishes, a prawn, some rice and an asparagus spear. When the bill came we were charged extra for leaving these items, that is absolutely ridiculous. What if someone doesnât like a dish at all? How can you penalize someone for not liking something theyâve ordered? I would not recommend this restaurant.

Iâve been going here for 4 years now, and I have always found it to be consistent. The staff are always friendly and attentive.Theyâve updated the ordering since I last visited, so you can order as you want from a Samsung tablet at your table which is a nice improvement. For new people looking to check this place out, it is a fixed price menu, and you get to order from around 80 dishes in rounds. 5 dishes per person per round, that varies from side dishes to rolls, noodles, rice and grilled food. Iâve never managed to eat the full amount of food you are actually allowed to order!Food always comes quite quickly and not too far apart from each other. It is made to order for the most part, so cooked dishes come hot, instead of completely pre made and left to sit on a heater. If you are planning on going, you may want to check if you can reserve a table. Every time Iâve been it has been busy, regardless of the day.Overall itâs good food for the price.

We had lunch at their restaurant and sat inside because they have air-conditioned inside a blessing during this hot summer. We both ordered the Bento box with sushi and sashimi. The food served is a real gourmet treat. The dishes are extremely fresh, authentic and so delicious. Highly recommended. We will return.

Based on the positive reactions on Tripadvisor we decided to celebrate the birthday of one of our kids in the restaurant Tokyo in Hilversum. The welcome was a bit hasted but friendly. We were brought to out teppanyaki table. When we ordered drinks they made their first mistake in bringing a Cassis in stead of an Icetea. Then we ordered some wine. At first just a glass Chardonnay. Not really a glass of wine to order again so we asked for a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from Chili later. After waiting and waiting we asked if they could take our order. Then the waiter came with a bottle of white wine... When we assured him we ordered a red Cabernet Sauvignon he came back with the right one. Not a very tasty red wine but reasonable priced. We ordered the menu of 25 Euro a person. For this 25 Euro you have 3 rounds where you can select 2 dishes per round. Because some of us like Sushi a lot we ordered some extra sushi next to the menu. That we had to pay for the extra portions was clear and no point of discussion for us. The three rounds give you a lot of food. Next to the selected dishes they also serve a salad, a miso soup and fried rice. Do if you are not very hungry, be careful what you order. When the first dishes came the salad was just some mesclun with dressing. Nothing more. Nothing like avocado, tomatoes, crab or anything else was added. We reported it to the waiter and after some discussion she took it back and added some avocado on top. After the second round we asked if the kids could get some ice instead of choosing again two main dishes from the menu. This proposal was refused. Then we asked if we could take the sushi home if we would order it, in a doggy bag. This was refused too. There was no flexibility in at all. Because of the inflexibility and the harsh way of reacting we all ordered 2 dishes for the last round knowing we wouldn't eat it! A waist of food. Due to a mismanagement and stupid rules. Overall we will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Too much food, to many waiters who don't speak enough Dutch to take the orders correctly, the wines were not very best and most of them overpriced. The floors in the restaurant are sticky and so are the tables. The toilets were dirty too.

For the same price you eat in a nice not so crowdie atmosphere. However Sumo is also very good. Boeddha is better. The new owner (a family with father in the kitchen, mother behind the bar and son is serving) are doing their best.Parking is free and easy.Next time we eat here again.
