We have driven by this place a million times, and the other day we went in to try it out. The menu is great...Japanese and Chinese options! The staff is very friendly and they move fast. The restaurant is clean. The food is delicious. BIG servings for a great price! We'll make this a regular on our rotation!

The menu is huge and may be underappreciated by the locals. The restaurant was not crowded at all. The hot and sour soup was excellent. We had a Blue crab/tuna/roe sushi roll that was also excellent. My wife had the kung pao which she thought was good, but average. I had the sea bass which was excellent and a bargain for the price. The service was great and the ambiance was great also. They put a lot of money into the decor. If I was local I'd eat here at least monthly.

"A nearly invisible âdiamond in the roughâ sushi place. I just discovered a place to eat (or take away) sushi that doesnât seem to appear in any normal search engine when I searched for "sushi" in the Asheville area. Caution: If you are looking for a fancy sushi bar this isnât it! You order at the small counter and they bring your food to your table. The beverages are from a Coke dispenser and two tea urns. The selection is limited but the prices are extremely reasonable. For lunch I had one piece each of Nigiri Sushi :Hamachi, Unagi, Tobiko and a Maguro Hand Roll. The Hamachi and Unagi for $1 a piece and the Tobiko was $1.50! The Hand Roll was an unbelievable $1.50. Then, since this was for research purposes, (;op, I ordered Chirashi. That was priced at $10.99 and the presentation was more impressive than Iâve encountered in many a fancy Japanese restaurant. I intentionally stated the food names only in Japanese since this review is meant for serious sushi lovers. Again, I emphasize this is not a place youâd go to for ambiance. It has none. Itâs location is in a nondescript tiny shopping center with a "Subway" and a tattoo parlor. But if youâre interested in some good quality sushi from a somewhat limited menu, this restaurant deserves a try. I know I will be returning for my next sushi âfixâ. An added plus is a small Asian grocery store next to the restaurant that has Asian food items that I used to have to drive to Asheville to buy. The name of this discovery is Shinsen Express in Fletcher, NC at 5601 Hendersonville Road. Itâs at the intersection of Hendersonville Road and Butler Bridge Road. If you want to see their menu and prices you can search the Internet on their name and find several listings. They do not have a web site. Caution! I found that the menus on the Internet are somewhat out of date as far as the items offered."

Loved this little restaurant. Suggested by other reviews in Trip Advisor. Restaurant was clean, neat, quaint little booths and quiet. Food was fresh, very well presented and very tasty. Sushi Chef was friendly as was our waitress. Loved the special rolls offered! Large menu to choose from. Highly recommend. Have attached a couple of pictures.
