Things to do in Chino Hills
Sushi was good, but pretty much everything else we ordered (appetizers & rolls) had loads of imitation crab meat as filler. So, if you like imitation crab meat, you will love this place. Prices were reasonable. Music was way too loud, but they did turn it down when we asked them to.

The restaurant is set up to have the grill chefs prepare your meal at the grill with your table but we ordered several different kinds of freshly made sushi. It was all delicious and flavorful. The service was good and the food was excellent, would definitely go back.
Great selection and great service. If you like sushi his is your place. The location is around the back side of the shopps mall. They have inside and outside seating.
I've been here four times now and each time I've tried different sushi rolls - all of which have been fantastic. The garlic edamame appetizer is great, then I've loved the baked langostino roll with crab, kobe beef roll, garlic albacore roll and super diablo roll. The menu offers a wide variety of unique selections. It isn't a big restaurant, so I'd recommend trying to arrive no later than 6pm. The sangria looks really good too, but I haven't tried it yet. My only complaint would be that if the sun hasn't set yet, the seating area across from the sushi bar faces direct sunlight and there is no curtain to block it. You have a hard time seeing the people sitting across from you (hopefully they will fix this soon since it bothers a lot of people). The food is great though and we'll definitely keep coming back.

My first visit to Grand Buffet was on a Tuesday night at the suggestion of a friend, exploring buffets in the area. We arrived around 6PM and found a few customers inside. Business really picked up around 7PM. There was plenty of seating on a Tuesday and many families with children were present. The fare is the very typical Asian mix of hot items, with a very good selection of sushi/shasimi being freshly prepared. I found everything I tried to be the typical toned down tastes for the SoCal customer. Not bad at all. There were spicer items for those that indulge with a few my wife tried that were heavily spiced and hot. Desserts were OK, but most were concentrating on meat and seafood items with many we observed piling on some nice snow crab legs. Prices were excellent with a small "senior" discount.

We were up north for a quick weekend getaway, and were in desperate need of some dinner. The situation was so desperate, in fact, that we (briefly) considered ordering the hotel's room service. Thank goodness our frugal nature won out, and our quick Yelp search brought us here. Our requirements that night were pretty easy: not too expensive, nothing we'd have to get dressed up for and within a 15 minute drive from the hotel. The fact that this is a Japanese restaurant certainly didn't hurt!We arrived kind of late on a Saturday night, but they were still open and doing a brisk business. We were shown to a table right away, and our requested hot tea was brought out quickly.I'm fairly predictable, so it should be no surprise that once I saw saba as an entree item, I stopped looking at the menu. =) I ended up getting a dinner combination of teriyaki salmon and the saba shioyak. It came with rice, miso soup and a salad. My husband ordered the chicken teriyaki entree, and added a spicy tuna roll (again, should not be a surprise!)Though they were busy (lots of large groups), our food came out pretty quickly. The soup, salad and rolls all came out first, and they were tasty. I actually really enjoyed the salad; the dressing was flavorful without being overpowering. The main dishes came out soon after, and I was surprised by how large the fish servings were. I was expecting smaller pieces of fish - especially the saba - but they were generous cuts. And it was filling! Both fish pieces were cooked to perfection, flaky and bursting with flavor (and bristling with bones, so pluck carefully!) The entrees also came with a small ramekin full of cooked vegetables - but they weren't just boiled or steamed. They were served in a truly yummy sauce of undetermined origin, but which we both definitely enjoyed. I think it might have been mayonnaise based? It was very good, whatever it was!About the only knock against this place is that the service lagged towards the end. The restaurant started to clear out while we ate, though they had a good to-go business going as well. But, we had to ask twice for water and tea refills, and had to wait an inordinate amount of time for our bill to be delivered and picked up (which is a huge pet peeve of mine).Other than that, though, we both enjoyed the meal. The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. We left feeling satiated and happy, and that's the best review I can ever give a place.

I have been to sushi restaurants in Beverly Hills (owned by that famous Japanese chef) and to ones in Kyoto and Tokyo. While not on that level, Kiku Sushi is very good nevertheless. The all-you-can-eat deal is a very good deal. The nigiri sushi are quite fresh and well made. No complaints about their service either. I drive 30 miles just to go there from Rancho Santa Margarita and it is worth the trip.

Been here several times over the past 5 yrs, and have always left satisfied. The sushi here is fresh and tasty, as is most everything else I've tried. Now, 5 stars doesn't come easy, but the reason I give it is due to the happy hr specials they have. There's some pretty deals, from cold sushi to colder beer. There's a few other surprises as well. The service here is consistently good. I say give it a try for yourself.

Try the seabags, I think it's chilean seabass, so it melts in your mouth with buttery flavor. It's so good. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. All of their sushis are good & fresh. They don't take reservation & the place is small, so there could be a wait. All good eats usually are that way. A must try!
