Where to eat Sushi food in Brisbane: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Reviews on Sushi food in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Australia’s third-largest city, Brisbane is the hub of Queensland culture, offering a peek at the past and a glimpse into the future. Visit the historic Windmill and Old Commissariat Store, built by convicts in 1828, or fast-forward to the present (and beyond) with a trip to the new Gallery of Modern Art. Mingle with locals atop Mount Coot-tha, cruise the Brisbane River to South Bank’s sandy beach on the City Cat and make sure to fill the cuteness quota at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, home to koalas and kangaroos.

As someone who is very passionate about Asian culture, I was greatly looking forward to eating at Sono. The restaurant is very similar to a traditional Japanese house and brings cuisine equally delicious and reminding of my days in Tokyo. Like traditional Japanese dining, be prepared to sit low to the ground. Fortunately, Sono has installed deep nooks under their tables so you aren't sitting on the actual ground. But you will have to take your shoes off, as with tradition. There are many options of eating here including family style, course tasting, and à la carte. The chef was very kind and allowed me to order a specially made sushi roll because i'm very picky. I also recommend trying the pork belly, the tempera udon, and the "gâteau au chocolat". If you come during the day, you can have a beautiful view of the river. We unfortunately made it too late to where it was dark so we couldn't see outside the windows but it was still a wonderful experience.

Wagaya Japanese Restaurant

This is a newly opened restaurant. Last night was our first time at Wagaya, and we loved it. Good food, reasonable prices, and fun using a touch screen to order everything. Food and drink arrived within minutes of ordering. You order and eat at your own p

After a disappointing visit to Chinatown in Fortitude Valley, I decided to have dinner here. The venue seating has several booths with individual touch panel ordering. I had the agedashi tofu (which could have been more crisp) with soft shell crab, salmon belly sushi, scampi sushi (delicious), octopus wasabi, and rainbow roll. The rice for the sushi was quite small, and could have been better cooked and seasoned with vinegar. Overall, a good experience.

We hadn't been to Mizu for a little while but I'm pleased to say it's still as good as ever if not better. It was bustling the Wednesday night we went as there was a sake tasting going on but that didn't delay the service. The gyoza and agedashi tofu were fantastic as entrees and we couldn't go past our favourites for mains - teriyaki chicken and teriyaki salmon. The serves seemed to be bigger than I remembered which makes Mizu even better value. And the banana spring rolls served with green tea ice cream are still a fantastic way to end a Mizu meal. And it's still byo wine!!Hi Pacificwoman59 sanThank you for visitng MIZU at Sake tasting night.I am glad you enjoyed it. See you again soon!Arigato gozaimasu. From MIZU team.
