The miso soup was excellent! I ordered Salmon, Yellowtail, Red Tuna and White Tuna Nigiri. The Yellowtail was not trimmed properly and had some skin left on. First time for White Tuna and last (chewy). The soy sauce was awful. Super salty and not the normal flavor and the wasbi was weak. I got an Out of Control Maki roll and it was not rolled well and fell apart. I got a $45 check for a very mediocre sushi meal. I'll stick with the Shige where I always get great sushi. In retrospect, a place that serves Sushi and Chinese food is probably not great at either.

I always order salmon and I went for the cedar plank salmon for $24. Steak came with "Yukon gold mashed potatoes" and "sauteed vegetables with charred lemon." The first bite of the mashed potatoes nearly knocked me off my seat - beautifully presented, creamy, with real bacon and butter, absolutely outstanding. Same with the mixed vegetables: perfectly sauteed and seasoned to perfection. The steak was perfectly cooked, large, tender, and perfect color. I did not see or taste the charred lemon and I didn't even care. One month ago I ordered a similar salmon dish in a resort town's seaside restaurant. For the same price (with a discount); it came with a soup or salad and some bread. While it was good, it didn't hold a candle to this meal. I savored every bite! Restaurant was neat, tidy, clean and had interesting decor and comfort details. Service was very good as well. I would love to go back!

I was visiting relatives and wanted to take them someplace special and memorable. I know my grandkids like going to our local Japanese Steak House so I searched and found Kyoto in the Boise area. Took the whole family including my 2 & 5 year old great nephews. They had a blast and a huge smile on their face the entire time. Prices were very reasonable, service was great and food was good.

We went for lunch and found an incredibly varied and eclectic menu, I mean really, from burgers to sushi to salads, sandwiches, soups, etc. Obviously we couldn't try all of it so we started with the Calamari which was a nice sized portion cooked perfectly, crisp, yet juicy, spicy especially with the wasabi dipping sauce, excellent. Then I had an Asian salad with ahi tuna, it was fresh, tasty, nice dressing, really hit the spot and the ahi was cooked to perfection. My wife had the japanese tacos, which were a tasty and unusual combo, spicy raw tuna on a crisply fired wonton skin, avocado, with a flavorful sauce, very, very good. Wish we were around and could try another 25 things on the menu. The service was quick, efficient and pleasant.
