Not sure who really is writing the other reviews about this restaurant. The prices are 30% or more above those of other area sushi restaurants. The portions also are smaller. Not a good value. To make it worse, it took forever to get our sushi and then my wife became ill after eating there. Sorry, we love sushi, but will not be returning.

Party of 5 us had a great meal. Plenty of fantastic options, I split the flatbread and pulled pork slides with a coworker. Both delish.. Others has the salmon, and salads.. Service was exceptional. It was a longer lunch for all of us since the boss was gone.. All in all, perfect Friday afternoon getaway..

I have been going here for more than a decade because of the consistent food quality. They make excellent sushi and do it relatively quickly at a reasonable price. The new space so far is disappointing though. The flow between ordering, paying, sitting, getting served.....it is a mess. They need to completely rethink the process and make better signs. Looks like they tried to build out the interior "on the cheap" instead of making it comfortable and inviting.Next time I will order to go or just grab pre-made sushi.

Adachi Restaurant features the Japanese-inspired cuisine located inside the renovated Peabody Mansion in downtown Birmingham.
Japanese inspired, tapas style meal. Food comes out as itâs made and most dishes are served as shareables. Noel was our waitress, super friendly and attentive. Cleaned up as our meal went along, filling waters and juices, cleaning discarded paper off the table and water puddles off the table. The featured specials shows different prices for the cucumber tataki and the capitol point oysters. We ordered the organic salad, green seaweed salad and 3 orders of cucumber and kani crab salad, edamame, heritage pork dumplings, California cut rolls, yakitori, wagyu, Kobe sliders, lobster Adachi tacos, trumpet mushroom nigiri, 4 California rolls. The trumpet mushroom tasted good, the mushroom was scored to look like fish and was served cold. The Cali hand rolls were packed and good. The lobster tacos were tasty. My husband enjoyed the duck yakitori meatball and the heritage dumplings. The salmon avocado rolls were good as well.
