I don't like sushi. I've never tried it but the thought of raw fish just doesn't do a thing for me....however....some friends convinced me to try this place with them anyway, saying they have other Asian dishes than sushi so I went. I'm glad I did! First, about the place. It's very bright and not huge and there's not a lot of space for people to wait for a table but they do have chairs so you can sit if you're fast enough and manage to grab one. It's also pretty noisy but it's not horrible. Everything is clean and inviting and that rotary thing is really interesting as is the pricing of plates. It was very busy when we arrived so we had to wait like 45 minutes to be seated near the rotary (it's optional seating) but it wasn't that bad. Now about the food.....If it's your first time at this place, it's helpful to try and go with someone who has so they can explain how it works. If you want to get sushi, it's all on the rotary which circles around past you if you choose a table on the rotary. The plates are color coded with different prices per color. They also have little signs on the rotary that explains what each dish is. If you see some sushi that you think you'd like, you open your little window and retrieve it from the belt on the rotary. It's that simple. Now the menu.....You can also order off the extensive menu that includes a multitude of dishes other than sushi....appetizers, main dishes of different types, fried rice, etc. I ended up getting the shrimp on a skewer, the fried rice to which I added beef and the vegetable tempura with shrimp. The skewered shrimp was very good...a little over done and kind of tough but good flavor. The fried rice was exceptional but DO NOT...UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES...ADD THE BEEF. The beef was cut too big (you don't get knives at this place) and it was so tough, I could hardly eat it. That being said, the rice itself was amazing...moist and flavorful...and it had corn in it which I had never seen before in fried rice but it was good. The vegetable tempura was really good. The shrimp was battered and fried just right. It also had battered and fried sweet potato slices, two huge mushrooms and some strips of eggplant. It was very good as well. Now for the big surprise....The menu said they had creme brule there which I thought was a big unusual for a place with Asian cuisine and I really wanted to try it. I was NOT prepared for the best creme brule I have ever had. It was very creamy without being runny and the crust on the top was perfect. There was a slice of strawberry on top which was the perfect addition to this great dessert and instead of one of those little ramekins that they have at other places, this was in a sizeable dish and you got quite a bit. I highly recommend it.So if you aren't really into sushi but your friends want to go here, go with them. You'll like it anyway. :)

They don't speak much English, but the Chinese and Japanese food is really good and at great prices.
At first, I thought I had found our next good Chinese take out place. My garlic eggplant beef dish was pretty awesome. The eggplant was good. But then the kung pao chicken and orange chicken were not so awesome. We only ate the veggies out of the chicken and the orange chicken was pretty heavy on the bread coating...
Can't say enough good things about Big Sea. Premium quality sushi, sashimi and a range of hot dishes. Service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Chef is an artist who serves his sushi with decorative carrots, cucumbers and beets carved into the likeness of dragons and unicorns. Wide beverage menu with some hard to find oriental teas. After a few stops you'll feel like family.

Family decided to have lunch here earlier this week and very happy we did. Soup, salad, and sushi were favorable, decent amount, and priced like a lunch. All were very pleased with the food and their associated prices. While here you need to try their different hot teas which were excellent.
