We last came here 3 years ago. It was fine. It looked a little un-prepossessing then as it does now, but the food was good if quite basic, and value was good. However we werenât moved to make a second visit.Three years later and things have changed. The restaurant looks basically the same, but the menu has improved and the quality is high. In particular meat based dishes were excellent. Prices arenât low but we felt that the value for money was good. We had a really good 2 course meal for 4 including drinks for around 80 euros.Service was good. Staff were friendly and efficient.Highly recommended.In summary:+ great food + good service+ friendly and relaxed atmosphere+ good value- the restaurant at first glance isnât especially attractive (donât let it put you off)Key question; would I eat here again?Definitely. This is a great setting right on the marina. It has a selection of seating some under cover some open. We only called in for an afternoon drink. A Pina Colada was priced at 12 euro and 5 for a glass of mediocre wine. Though the setting is nice. These prices will not encourage return business.

Wonderful fillet steak for our entire table of six. All cooked to different likings just perfectly. Cracking sides of veg, broccoli, mushrooms, potatoes etc. Nice sangria bowl, ice cold SuperBock all rounded off with some excellent and friendly service. Fantastic steaks, big group of 20, wine was great, starters excellent and the mains sublime. It does get busy so be patient on service but well recommended.

We visited here for our mums 80th birthday as it was her favourite restaurant when she came to vilamoura a few years back. The new owner offers the same service and exceptional food that we were hoping for. He even took my brother in his car to arrange a cake 20 mins before we arrived due to his dessert chef being ill and unable to work.Delicious food and great service... we was not rushed and was allowed to take our time and enjoy the evening. First of all... if the restaurant made some tweaks it would be lovely and enjoyable... however... customer service and their actual service skills need to be looked into. Ate here last week... well actually I say ate here... I actually didnât as my meal tasted disgusting. The chicken was inedible and after waiting 40 minutes for it to arrive I couldnât even be bothered asking for a replacement..... not one member of staff came to check if the food was ok... therefore only my partner ate his food and I asked for the bill. On the table next to us.. something similar had happened to an older gentleman. No apology. No nothing. Donât waste your time here. The marina is packed full of lovely restaurants with staff who care about their establishmentI am really sorry to hear that..we allways try our best to please our clients with our food and service..it looks like this time we fail..my apologise and hope to give us another chance in the future to prove we can make much better than that..maybe it was one of those nights..best regards

If you want a change from the Marina restaurants, Castizo is a good option. better to reserve though, as it's usually packaged with limited seating. The portions are quite large so better ask for advice. Some dishes could easily be enough for 2. Service was very good, and food quality was good.

Having been here a couple of times before, however, tonight was the worst meal weâve ever had! In fact, itâs the worst meal weâve ever had anywhere on the marina so far. Tonight was special, as we had friends with us and we wanted to celebrate, but wish now we had given it a wide berth. The 2 husbands both had steaks, and what arrived, you would have given to a child, size wise. We all ordered hand cut fries, and what we were given looked like very soggy crisps, thatâs the only way to describe them. The 4 of us couldnât think of one good thing to say about this restaurant and we shall definitely never ever visit again. Weâve eaten here 5 times now during our 2 holidays in Vilamoura this year & itâs consistently wonderful food. We wouldnât consider eating steak anywhere else on the Marina & weâre fussy eaters!The service is efficient & friendly. The steaks are tender, tasty & cooked to perfection. A great choice of extras on the menu too.Prices are reasonable & the wines are very good. Highly recommended

For me good food starts with good product . If we have good product perfectly cooked with great service we move towards excellence . I believe this to be Retinto- Rodizio Vilamoura . My wife had a Portuguese Steak which she said was delicious while I had an Argentinian Rump . Superb !!! We were welcomed and waited on by Teima , a lovely girl who was more than helpful . As General MacArthur said " I SHALL RETURN "WOW!!!Thank you very much for your review. ALWAYS WELCOME. Regards
