We have been visiting Spur ranches for decades and by now have our expectations based on this. We had lunch and ordered burgers, mine was the chilli chicken burger.The chicken was the toughest I have ever tasted, chips and onion rings soggy.6/10 for the food, service was good, Lazier, our water was very attentive. Air conditioning was not effective, no playground for the kiddies, only playstation.No internet access on the wifi

This is part of a chain of restaurants which offers consistent value and varied menu options at all their branches. On a Saturday at lunch time the restaurant was packed. I was welcomed at the door, and I ordered a coffee and toasted sandwich. I browsed through the selection of current magazines and newspapers. The toasted sandwich was tasty, but the filling was a bit sparse. The side salad was served attractively, but some of the lettuce leaves looked stale. My macchiato coffee was perfect executed, but only when asked, it was served with two small biscuits. The service was friendly and professional. The crockery and cutlery were clean, but the charcoal side plate was chipped. No manager was visible. Ideal for good coffee and a sandwich.

We heard about this restaurant from church friends, who were quite impressed and we thought to pay it a visit.Situated in the Meyerton Agricultural Holdings area of Meyerton, it is well removed from the hustle and bustle of town and traffic noice.It is a "farm style" restaurant and absolutely focussed on kiddies as well as relaxing time for adults.The main restaurant consists of a large thatched roof are as well as verandah.There is a swimming pool, with shaded seating, trampolines, free "mall kiddies rides" koi ponds, big blowbup slide, and many more gazebo covered tables.The menu focusses on small meals and the biggest grill dish would be a 300gr rump steak.But even so the menu has a variety of small meals which are freshly made. So, allow some time for this.A nice selection of cakes are also on order.The restaurant also has a well equipped bar.In essence, this is a fun family dayout venue.The menu meal prices are very reasonable.We are sure to take the grandchildren there. No doubt.The main thing is that there is covered covered seating at all the kiddie activities.

What we enjoy about this Spur is the atmosphere, friendly service and good food and were not disappointed. We were met at the door promptly and taken to our table. We were worried that the food would take long to prepare because the restaurant was quite busy but the meals arrived timeously. The play area is a also a great addition that kept the kids busy and out of trouble!Dear Joey_The_Jackie,Thank you for the feedback. The restaurant and grounds are beautiful and they have a fantastic kids play area. The food is of very high quality and the service is great. They sometimes have special events like live bands, etc. The restaurant is next to a beautiful big pool that you can swim in when its warm. Plus they have various types of buck wandering around a huge grassy area. The hotel looks very modern and comfortable and they even have a special package for "date night". Great for conferences and weddings too.

Friendly waiters. Kids area outside and parents don't have a good view over the kids. Food wasn't the best. I personally think Spur is very expensive for a family restaurant.

We have been there quite a few times in the last year! Sometimes they have nice specials ( we had a advocado ritz and cheddamelt burger for under a R100). Personal (Amos) and waiters friendly and attentive. Kitchen can be a bit slow sometimes but the food is definitely worth waiting for. A nice place to go with family and friends because of the relaxed atmosphere!! I can recommend it!
