The Derby never disappoints! Our party of 4 was seated immediately (with reservations) on an early Saturday evening. Our waiter, Jim, was fantastic. One of the best we've had there. Food, as always, was prepared properly, served at the appropriate temperature and very tasty. We all had some form of steak and they were cooked perfectly. Sides are generous and dinners come with vegetable & choice of potato or rice. One of the couples was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and Jim brought out a Baked Alaska for dessert. He was always on the spot, without being intrusive. Will definitely ask for him in the future.

Conveniently located on the corner of Arroyo and Marengo Boulevard, you'll find a place for locals and visitors to enjoy an exceptional selection of premium steaks and an expertly curated list of 100 wines by the glass.
The decoration and atmosphere in this restaurant itâs great and sofisticated. Yet the food and quality itâs not as high as you expect. Fish and meat are Ok but not as wonderful as in many other less expensive restaurants. The attention is exceptional and caring all the time. Although we had an issue with a baked potato that was not good because it was passed, when we ask why the potato was dark and blueish inside? He didnât recognize it was a kitchen mistake. Otherwise itâs well located and expect to pay extra in everything.

It was our anniversary and the table was decorated, plus the menu was personalized. Staff really made a special evening for us! Food was amazing! Truffle cauliflower, rib eye steaks and amazing desserts of chocolate, strawberry short cake and ice cream. Great restaurant to celebrate a special event! Thanks to Gabriel and Astrid for special touches!

Iron skillet cornbread, homemade chicken pot pie, BBQ baby back ribs and more. Plus, hand-crafted cocktails and fine wines by the bottle & glass. Considered a dining room away from home by many in Pasadena, Smitty's Grill continues to warmly welcome new a
The waiter, rubin, was great! Jessica brought is the wine that we ordered and check on us through out our meal. Sent over an order of cornbread to our table. The food was great too. Had the liver; was cooked to perfection. My dinner partner had meatloaf which he said was great. I had the cup of white bean soup, which was the soup of the day. Awsome!

So, when I reserved this through Open Table, it didnt disclose it was a fixed menu. These are typically a horrible representation of a menu and grossly over priced. This was unfortunately no different. And look, I love the Royce. It's a great restaurant. But I took my family here for steak and to share a bunch of appetizers. Last night the only beef option was beef Wellington, which I wouldn't order ever. The meal was just a bummer. Dessert was a near frozen apple tart and peppermint panacotta with a unfortunate consistency. On the plus side, the service was excellent. So, take this review with a grain of salt. It doesn't reflect the usual menu, but that it wasnt disclosed it would be a fixed menu until we were seated really angered meDear RH,Thank you for sharing this valuable feedback, and we truly apologize that you found your holiday meal at The Royce not up to par. While we do note on OpenTable that our regular menu may not be available on holidays and include the prix-fixe on our website as the Christmas option, we understand the confusion and will discuss with our OpenTable rep how we may better ensure this information is made clearer in any way possible through that platform. I have also shared your comments with our Royce chef and team regarding the dishes served so that we can correct any issues immediately as we prepare for upcoming holidays. Again, we truly apologize and hope we will have a chance to welcome you in the future for an improved experience.Best Regards,Paul LeclercManaging Director

A bit pricey, v busy on a Friday night. The food was really good from the appetizers, empanadas and calamari, to the entrees. Each of our three meat/ steak entrees were delicious. Avoid dessert though.Good night out!
