Prescott, Arizona itself is an historical place. This was the territorial capitol before Arizona was a state. The restaurant was in business in 1877 and hosted many famous characters from western history including Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. Yes, these were real people.Located on "Whiskey Row" on the town square in Prescott the restaurant is easy to find. The stage is set as soon as you walk in the door. The huge original antique bar is worth a visit in itself. A walk past the bar and numerous tables brings you into a large dining area. The walls are lined with many artifacts and information about Arizona history and the West.I was there with a group of crew members from the Commemorative Air Force out of Mesa, Arizona that were in town for an air show. Our group of 11 were greeted by our waitress Estrella. She was dressed in 1870's period garb which enhanced the scene. The menu has a wide variety of steak, fish and some Tex-Mex dishes. I had a buffalo burger which was terrific. Everyone else commented on the quality of their meals. The service was excellent by the charming and attractive Estrella. This is a great historic restaurant the will be enjoyed by the entire family. I think that children especially will be interested in seeing some living history. The Palace should not be missed.

We weren’t expecting a great dinner and we didn’t get one. One would think a restaurant with the name “Steakhouse “ could make a a good steak. Sadly, no. Our Medium Rate T-Bone was medium to well and gritty. It came out before the salad! On the bright side, the bread was good.
