We dined here with friends we have known since high school. The dinner atmosphere was very alive. Because we wanted to talk, we were seated in an area towards the back, slightly away from the main activity. That suited our needs, very well.Our server, Chris, was good and fun. He let the old friends take their time, talk and reminisce, while making up our minds about drinks and dinner selections. I have to rave about the steaks and their presentation. A server/chef prepares and serves them, at your table, on a slab of very hot black lava rock. My filet mignon was served perfectly medium rare. The side of truffle fries was a perfect addition. My wife's entree oriental salad was huge and very good.Beer selections were great. House wines were quite good.

Had drinks in the 5ive before a wedding at the St. Johnâs Inn. The atmosphere at the bar area is great, we were able to watch the Michigan football team beat Northwestern.The bartenders were extremely attentive, courteous and best of all they actually converse with the patrons! It was great to see bartenders that no only know how to mix a great drink, but they mix with the crowd! This alone will make me return!Drinks are expensive, Bacardi cocktail was $9.54 and Budweiser is $5.66.However the setting is beautiful, and the bartenders actually pay attention to their guests so the prices are reasonable for this incredible venue.Thank you so much for coming into 5ive Steakhouse. We are very happy to hear you had a wonderful experience. We take great pride in getting to know our guests and making sure their experience is enjoyable! Please be sure to stop in for our Grill Night on Tuesdays or Thursdays when we have live music.

Young, inexperienced waitstaff; no knowledge of differences between medium, medium-rare, rare, etc. Asked waiter to go "ask someone" - came back with insufficient info - he just wasn't sure!Salad & salt-baked potato were good - best part of dinner - but not worth the price paid. Server appeared to be a "novice" - he was polite & tried but it was mediocre at best. Don't know about complete menu, but their meats are not "prime" as most upscale restaurants. If you're expecting "fine dining" - keep driving. Prime Rib was like a thick slab of tough, tasteless "moose meat" - did not get the order "particulars" right or someone in the kitchen just can't prepare prime rib! Sent back once - still AWFUL!! Our rather early dinner time should not have been so "rushed" - seems as though they aim for maximum table turn-over. Will not be returning even for a hamburger; not worth our time and $$.Brought home "doggie bag" of remainder; so bad had to throw it out!

spacious, inviting atmosphere. soft music. excellent service. small, but sufficient salad bar. the unique dishes there were risotto, beans and rice, apple salad, soup. brought to the table were small bowls of special croutons, fried plantains, & a wonderful type of mashed potatoes. the meats were plentiful and constant. our group of 6 voted the best: (#1) garlic steak, bacon wrapped chicken, house special sirloin, lamb, & Parmesan crusted pork. Our drinks were kept refilled. Our server was attentive but not invasive. Now we gave a 4 instead of a 5 because there were some cons: dry and overdone ribs were inedible, so was the first batch of chicken legs, top and bottom sirloin were tough, and grizzle had not been cut off meat pieces that were served as individual pieces off the spicket. the other problem was the meat was very rare and some of the sliced pieces passed off as well done were bloody red and 2 of our group could not eat them. The dessert flan, recommended by our waiter was excellent-the best i have ever had and the sauce on top great. i would highly recommend this place to others but you must remember a couple of things. WE WENT AT NOON! The place is then not crowded and so we had great service and hot meat. the prices are half of the evening meal. open 11:30-2 and we were there that whole time. 24.99. at night it is 49.99. night has 4 more meat including shrimp and steak filet and ribeye and prime rib. but i understand it is more zooish at night. we LOVED going at noon and having time to let everything settle in the tummy. parking right outside. felt no fans blowing on us and cooling our food down yet it was comfortable inside on a 93 degree day. be sure and join their email. there pops up some great deals- lately 25% off dinner for up to 6 people and noon luncheon coupon for free drink and dessert. so, watch for those and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! Go hungry and leave the cholesterol worries for another day. also remember if you ask for the outside crust it is full of flavor, but salty. we went for a walk afterward and our feet were swollen.

I have eaten here many times over the last few years. This is a Brazilian steakhouse where you help yourself to an amazing salad bar and then gauchos bring upwards of 16 different meats. While the meat is being served, the wait staff brings potatoâs, rolls and fried bananas. They advertised all of the above plus the traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. Well the traditional turkey dinner was added to the salad bar,( so they took away a lot of the regular salad items), and it was the WORST thanksgiving buffet I have ever seen. So my entire party passed in that. We were disappointed it knew the gauchos would be bringing all the meats. We could hardly get any meat. By the time the gauchos got to our table they were nearly out, only half of us would get served. We waited and waited. The wait staff served one helping of rolls, potatoes and fried bananas. We went home hungry. I move Brazilian steakhouses but I wonât be back. Worst Thanksgiving EVER.

Chefs Special 3 Course Dinner is always the best deal and that's what we had for our special meal. Filets were cooked perfectly...absolutely perfectly with the wine reduction an absolute perfect compliment to the filet.Lobster mac n cheese was underwhelming. The bechamel sauce had too much cheddar which separated and oily...still good but not great.Seafood Tower was good delish actually bit a little overpriced compare to what we got....Cjefs Special 3 Course meal was the best value. Filet was the best cut of meat. Delish.
