We eat here every year when we stay at Hallmark Resort. Yes, it's convenient because they're connected, but the food is mouthwatering...Oregon's #1 clam chowder! Great steaks and outstanding seafood, with a large, varied menu. Large, expansive windows face the Pacific, both in the dining room and the bar area. Management has it right here , too...like the attached resort. Highly trained, smiling, accommodating staff...all of them...many of them veterans here...like Pearl, Juan, Tess, Cassie. Impressive! Szabo's used to be a favorite until today. The French Dip sandwich used to come on a hoagy roll..now a stadium hot dog bun. The Fish Sandwich was a colorless slab of something. We ate there every time we came to the coast but this was the last time. Service was good, but it takes more. Would rather pay a higher price that pay for the food we received

We asked a gentleman at a surf shop if there was a place that served really good burgers. Without hesitation, he stated that Newport Steak & Seafood had "the best burger in town." He said their Bloody Marys were great too and advised us to sit in the bar. He gave great advice. The bar was whimsical and perfect to watch the game. We peeked in the restaurant side when we walked in and it didn't look like it had as much personality at a glance. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was fantastic! Very beefy with thick cut pieces of bacon on it. Bloody Mary's were very good as well. Good service and really good water. That may sound odd but it was on the softer side, which I personally really like.We will definitely return to this place and recommend it to others.

The BEST crab bisque chowder is here and the rest of the food is pretty good also.
