Initially we were headed to another taco place just around the corner from this place but they closed 30 mins earlier than normal. Found this place and boy are we glad we did! Gushiken is also known as Champions bar. This place is open until 11pm which is very convenient. The tacos, taco rice and garlic shrimp were incredible. The gentleman is super friendly and welcoming. Sort of difficult to find but pop the address in your gps and you'll be fine!

Restaurant is opposite Nakama Steak house, a short taxi ride 550 yen, from Okinawa Marriott Resort & Spa. Set meals of only pork, pork & beef, only beef. Ala carte of other Japanese n okinawan dishes. Pork & beef well-marbled. Meat & raw local vegetables in miso dip very tasty. Set meal is for 2-3 persons who are small-eaters. Cant read Japanese ask for menu in English. Overall reasonable price for meal abt 30% price of similar meal in Okinawa Marriott Resort. This was one of the reasons for not eating again in the hotel restaurants. Local Orion beer also refreshing & inexpensive. Your reservation is also shown on board outside the restaurant. We know you have a large choice of restaurants to choose from, and with that in mind would like to thank you very much for coming to Ryukyu Yakiniku NAKAMA. The driving concept behind our store is local consumption of local produce; representing Okinawa. Ishigaki beef, southern pork, as well as Okinawan cuisine made with local ingredients. Because we have a diverse array of customers from many different backgrounds, we also have Chinese and Korean language menus in addition to our English edition so anyone can enjoy our hospitality without worry.We also offer a drop-off service to neighbouring hotels such as the Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Busena Terrace etc so if you ever find yourself back in Okinawa, so by all means make use of it if you would like to eat some Ryukyu Yakiniku without leaving the comfort of your hotel on your next visit here.For customers who make reservations, we always state the names on the store board at the front in an effort to make the experience as welcoming as possible. This restaurant has a luxurious atmosphere and the staff are friendly. It's a bit dark inside but, comfortable and the music is played low enough to allow conversations at the tables. A friend ad, I stopped by after 2PM for a late lunch. It seems, the lunch specials are not served after two. So, we looked at the regular menu, which has meals ranging in the 1,000-5,000 yen costs. We both had the hamburger set. It was a well balanced meal, which tasted something like meatloaf. Maybe, we'll go back again sometime, to sample the lunch specials.

The food and service here was exceptional. The options for the meals were diverse, a great selection of wines and beers, but to have the food cooked infront of you at your table was a brilliant experience. Would recommend anyone who is in the area, or staying at the hotel to dine here.

Many tourists, pass through this location because, discount tickets, for other attractions, are sold here. Most Micho no Eki, sell local products and foods at reasonable prices and, this one is no exception. In addition to, cheap meals like, soba, tempura and rice balls, this establishment sells some more expensive meals, such as steaks. In the 15-20 dollar price range, the meals are reasonable, delicious and you are served, more than enough to leave the table, filled. Steaks, at all restaurants in Japan, are usually a bit tougher, to chew than, what you'd find in America. Here, they are flavored with plenty of garlic and, delicious.

We had just arrived in Okinawa, got checked into our hotel and decided to search for food. We came upon Restaurant Flipper not knowing what to expect, but it had free and ample parking. Its a charming steak restaurant (named after a American television show about a dolphin?) with great views of the ocean. Get a table by the windows at sunset if you can, very beautiful! The filet steaks start around 1600 yen and include soup and salad. The soup was a clam chowder of sorts and was delicious! The cooking options for the steaks were medium, medium well and well done. I usually prefer rare, but the medium was still good. It came with a small side of spaghetti, broccoli florets and potato wedges and your choice of rice or toast. It also came with tea or coffee as part of the meal.The service was good and they were very responsive to us. The menu had English and the servers spoke passable English to be able to order and such. They do not accept credit cards but you can pay in either yen or US dollar (at whatever their exchange rate is for the day).The true star of this restaurant are the pies. They aren't full American sized pies. They are small, almost the size of a small empanada. At 58 yen a pie, you can buy several different flavors. The sign outside the restaurant says they are hand made. They were delicious!! We bought them to take out since we were stuff from dinner. It is worth stopping here just for the pie!
