What impressed me most about this Spur was the attentiveness of the manager, ever enquiring but not overbearing. The spur is a small one and the staff friendly and efficient. We took our family who were visiting us from Guernsey to Turn n Tender in Waterfall as they were craving some good steaks and ribs. We werenât disappointed. We enjoyed a variety of steaks, ribs, crumbed mushrooms, chips, baked potatoes, salads and desserts. All very tasty indeed.

I always go at any time of the day. Breakfast service is slow however lunch or dinner is adequate. Tables are sticky and should be cleaned further. Some waiters are putrid whereas others are brilliant. Other than that would recommend this. My wife & I are long time [over 10 years] members of a 12 person monthly dinner club - that on the last Thursday of 11 months of the year [excluding December] have a dinner out in the North Eastern suburbs of Johannesburg. March 28 was Hussars Grill, Waterfall Corner. First arrivals came at 18:30. Everyone there by 19:00.The bar had run out of Windhoek Draught beer - so after much persuasion they went to a bottle store in the center & procured some! It was 19:40 before starters orders orders were taken. Starters arrived around 20:10 and then main course orders were taken. Mains arrived around 20:30. Mine was good. BUT everyone else had bitter complaints: underdone, too fatty, 2 had fillet steak that had gristle in it! Steak ordered with English mustard only had it delivered 15 minutes after the dish had been served. No waitrons came in the interval and with the noisy environment, plus being in the furthest corner - we were out of sight. Management was called and our "leader" explained the inordinate delay and poor service. He was given a chocolate cream vodka drink & 2 complimentary bottles of wine were placed on the table. Finally some had desserts. The general consensus was it was the lowest rating dining experience our supper club had ever partaken in. Inordinately slow and then not attentive service: food quality in general was not relating to the top line prices charged. It was a sad let-down. This is a lovely place to have a really good steak, ribs , chops or whatever u wish.The service is good, food very tasty. Quality excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. The lunch time specials are excellent . For now 4 lamb chops etc for R69.00 or 300g rump steak etc for R69.00 . U can't buy that for that price. The position is excellant. While ladies doing nails etc the men can sit and relax have a steak and beer for next to nothing. Very very good.

If you have a carnivorous craving, this is the place to visit!There is every cut of meat available, from the simple sirloin to the exquisite entrecote, a cut I hadn't even heard of prior to my visit to this prime-cut paradise!The early sun-setting balcony seating was a perfect setting for a lazy Sunday supper, overlooking the Waterfall wonder of luxury development houses.We started off with a good selection of wine and craft beers paired with entrees of delicious marrow bones (expertly advised by our very knowledgeable waiter to order the old-school boiled rather than roasted bones, so that we actually still get some succulent marrow), tasty short rib beef rashers and a gargantuan gorgonzola table salad. Our mains included the super Sunday beef burger special for a mere R65, a point rump and the Entrecote. Both steak cuts were turned and tendered to medium-rare perfection, and filled with its own flavor even without an accompanying sauce! It was with general consensus that the entrecote, being a thicker cut, was grilled better to perfection than the thinner point rump. The entrecote comes with the obligatory extra tail of fat, which I was after. All mains are served with a side selection of either a starch, a trio of cooked veg, or a stir fry. They also have a wide selection of other proteins, including oxtail, lamb, and seafood. Another speciality are their local flavors of potjies. A highly recommended place for mighty meat-lovers!

Had their special "kickstarter" breakfast (R49.90) at the SPUR at the Mall of Africa. Egg, cheese hash brown onion rings and mushroom. Good value for money. Good service. Being that the restaurants speciality is steak and seeing that they pride themselves on preparing to order even showing visually what to expect when ordering rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done steaks. We ordered "medium" and were served a T Bone which was a combination of well and medium well, it was then sent back and we were then presented with a rare / medium rare steak which we again brought the managers attention to. Finally we were provided with a medium rare to medium steak both parties having been worn down after this. Wine was good, crème brule was good - sadly a poor performance by the griller and the manager needs to be better equipped when dealing with situations such as this.
