We had dinner at this restaurant and I was very impressed with my meal.1. Located as a stand-alone building in a safe center, with ample parking and the widest parking bays in Johannesburg.2. The restaurant has an inviting atmosphere.3. I had their lamb chops: succulent, thick cut and I savoured every bite. In future, this is the place I will go for my lamb chop craving. 4. The kids enjoyed their hamburgers and ribeye steak. 5. The service is good, and their meals are well-priced.Our overall dining experience was fantastic.

My wife and I went for dinner on a warm night just before Xmas. At most there were 4 tables occupied and I doubt they had more than a dozen or so covers all night - so it was a surprise that the service was so patchy. We sat outside - no table cloth, no condiments, no candle until we asked. Shame, it's a nice patio that needs more done with it. I had a T Bone and my wife had Rump. Both were excellent, grilled in olive oil and S&P, tasty, succulent, tender. So why average? I asked for mine with chips, mushroom and grilled tomato. Steak came, 5 mins later the chips, some time after some tinned mushrooms and 4 non grilled tomato slices. I was slightly off-menu ordering, but still, not exactly complex to grill a tomato...Service generally was less than efficient and we waved for 5 mins to try to get the bill, eventually walking to the till to pay.MIGHT give it another try some day to see if it was just an off night service wise....

I had higher expectations: beer on tap not really exiting, Stella and a lite beer, the rump with extra fat was ok in taste, could have been tenderer, the fries were horrible: soft, soggy and greasy. House side salat with avocado probably the best dish.

What a great venue, ambiance, service and food. It was winter and they had fires outside to huddle around, before going in to the restaurant - a bit like going back into the past and reminded me of visiting Zimbabwe many years ago. Definitely an African theme. Itâs expensive, but the food is exceptional and very personalized service, including the owners/managers. Definitely worth a visit - just do it!

To the management of the Meat Ci in Monte CasinoWe booked a table for 10 people with kids included. Service was slow..requests to have kids meals brought first didn't materialize. Food took extremely long..when it arrived it was cold. The youngest kid in our group had her food brought last after the long wait. Even though the manager tried to assist ..and I commend him for his efforts..the evening was ruined. Dinner was cold and we left extremely unhappy and hungry. Didn't expect this kind of poor service to pay the least. Our guests were from Cape Town and I dont think that we want to showcase this kind of service and quality from Monte Casino restaurants. Hope this feedback at least gets the attention it deserves and that it will assist in improving the service

This is a lovely place to have a really good steak, ribs , chops or whatever u wish.The service is good, food very tasty. Quality excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. The lunch time specials are excellent . For now 4 lamb chops etc for R69.00 or 300g rump steak etc for R69.00 . U can't buy that for that price. The position is excellant. While ladies doing nails etc the men can sit and relax have a steak and beer for next to nothing. Very very good.

It was good. Not the cheapest bug their set menus were good and the price for a good steak in comparison with the UK, fantastic! Eating at this chain is always a pleasant experience. The meals are "standardized" so you know what you are getting. Portions and variety of entrees are good. We visited for lunch with friends and took our child to play in the play area. The child minder was awesome and allowed us to enjoy our food and visit. She was very attentive and managed the children well. The food and drinks were great as always and the manager was very attentive too. The service at the table was a little slow but all worked out.

Papachinos management get my vote for restaurant of the month after they promptly and decisively address a potentially disastrous incident into a positive one. Well done to Angelo and Given for taking full responsibility and accountability for a lapse in quality by back room staff! Rare to find mgt funding process and supply chain issues on the spot!
