First time at this establishment and was not disappointed. My colleague and I both ordered fish - I had the Cape Salmon on vegetable noodles which my colleague had the Red Roman. Both were prepared to perfection. Waiter was attentive and the entire atmosphere in the restuarant was great. Tables are not too close to one another. The only slight disappointment was the wine selection.I would recommend this restuarant.

Butcher Boys, an elegant upmarket steak restaurant and sister to our Florida Rd store which was established in November 1999 has now opened opened its doors in Umhlanga Rocks on the 1st of March 2017. This sanctuary for meat lovers serve the best grain fe
We only booked that morning for a large group of 12 but they were able to accommodate us. Despite the size of the group, the service was excellent and the meat was delicious. I had a meat sharing platter for two which was a delicious and more varied than it sounds. The whole group enjoyed meals across the menu and. All washed down with some red wine recommended by the waiter. Fun place. Thanks for the fabulous review @PFTraveller62 - delighted to hear you had a great meal with us and hope to see you back again soon.

Upmarket venue for that special dinner, tasteful decor with well trained waitrons. Suggest that reservation is made as I have been there on week nights and always well supported.
Lovely ambiance, sitting upstairs on the balcony on a balmy spring evening. We had fantastic salads to start, and my wife's main course of seared tuna was delicious. Unfortunately my 400g rump was most disappointing. It was as if it had been cooked on a coldish grill. It was a bit grey and tough, not the seared outside and pink and juicy inside one expects. I ordered a pepper sauce which helped somewhat. This was a pity because overall the evening was great !

Was in the area for the weekend and ended up here twice. That is just how nice the whole experience was.Popped in at lunch time for a light snack. What we found was a gem of a place with really good food and a fantastic atmosphere. This is a very rustic establishment which adds to it charm. Our lunch was such good value and enjoyable that we returned for dinner as well.I just have to mention the owner (who's name I cannot remember now). He really made the experience so much more enjoyable with his friendly presence. Making sure we were looked after properly, which we always were.10/10 for valueWould returnWould recommend

My review Service = slowFood waiting time = Well above averagePrice = well above averageChicken pesto open sandwich had pickled ginger or radish on it. Very wierd taste profileMinced bacon pizza had cheap bacon finely chopped on it. The base was very chewy indicating that the dough is overproved. Not how a pizza should be made. Now for the worst. The seafood pizza. It had a sugary tomatoe base with either orange marmalade or lemon marmalade on it with battered onion rings, how the onion rings are supposed to add any flavour or what its meant to add to the pizza only the chef knows. Also the base although well cooked was also very chewy. I feel that the chef is trying to turn what used to be a good coffee shop into something over pretentious. Adding herbs and flavours that make dishes to complicated, or am I missing the point?Hi Janet,We've already replied to your review on Google Business, followed up on your experience, found your receipt, discussed it among our staff and found that other than the fact our waitress who served you said you ate almost everything, made no comments whatsoever about the service / food or beverages to her or either of the two managers on the floor at the time of your visit, and according to her you gave no indication of a negative experience at the time. You paid your bill, you gave her a lovely gratuity and left under what we saw as a content customer - which is our primary focus and aim!Yet you have gone out of your way to publicly expose us as a 1 Star, poorly managed and pretentious establishment. We have been humbly serving the local community for over 4 years now, our service and attention to detail have on most occasions been well reviewed and appreciated - something I personally strive for with my staff each and every day!My concern with your review is that you never once made a comment / asked for assistance, or brought your experience to the attention of one of our managers, who would've jumped immediately in to make amends on what, according to you was an absolute disastrous experience! Now, we implore you once again as we did on your Google Review to please contact us via email at [email protected] so that we can communicate directly and personally to try understand and come to an amicable solution from your experience.Yours sincerly,

Butcher Boys, an elegant upmarket steak restaurant, opened its doors in Morningside, Durban in November 1999. This sanctuary for meat lovers serve the best grain fed beef South Africa has to offer and our wet & dry aging process results in exceptional qua
Our first visit was great. All we could ask for, superb, perfectly matured and cooked ribeye steaks (the recommendation of our waiter) and a bottle of well priced Malbec. Service was efficient. We liked it so much we returned the next night. We normally have a rule "never go back". I wish we had stuck to it! The service was appalling. We enjoyed some very tasty biltong and were asked if we were ready for our mains straight away. We said we were, but 30 mins later they hadnât arrived. When they did, my burger and chips were barely warm, my partners steak bore little comparison with the previous nights. The waitress seemed a little out of her depth, not her fault, perhaps management should take a look at the training and supervision of its staff.Would give this place 5 stars for the first visit, only two for the second.Thank you for your feedback @crellston - consistency is key at Butcher Boys so we are disappointed to hear your 2nd visit was underwhleming. We have fed back to the team - its certainly not what we like to hear but we do appreciate the feedback.

Come with us on a visual, taste sensation like no other. Whether youâre stopping by for a light salad or you need to feed the beast, weâve got you covered with the tastiest, heartiest
Well... where to start? After having to look for our booking in the book for about 10 mins, and questioning us whether we did actually make a booking, my wife, myself and some friends of ours were seated in their "Smoking Section" (which in reality is the sidewalk in Florida Road). We were greeted by our waiter (who never gave his name, most likely on purpose) whom I can only describe as inept. He did not know what beers were on offer, struggled to listen to his patrons, and made assumptions about what we were going to say before it came out of our mouths. We asked what IPA's they had on offer, he offered us a Castle Lite :/ After ordering our drinks, they came in drips and drabs... 1 drink at a time, and in total it took about 45 mins for all 4 of our drinks to eventually arrive... He then took our food orders, but to our disappointment, a few of the starters were not available... Which would have been fine if the waiter knew at the time of ordering whether they had stock or not.... but he didn't, and we only found out after 20 mins of waiting. Our starters eventually arrived, cold and tasteless... We would have left at that point if it were not having ordered mains, and them arriving about 30 seconds after our starters were finished... we decided to stay and eat them, even though we didn't have high hopes at this point. Needless to say, our disappointment was realised, as the food tasted like something from a much cheaper Apache themed restaurant.... The waiter then took another 45 mins to take our plates away and get us our bill... I don't even want to get into the details of the waiter ignoring us while he was flirting and sitting down at the table next to us... This was most likely the worst dining experience I've had in a very long time... I cannot and will not recommend this establishment to anyone...Dear Stefan, thank you for taking the time to do a review, your feedback is very valuable to us We are extremely disappointed to hear about your poor dining experience at our Butcher Block Branch in Florida Road. This most certainly is not up to our usual standards and I shall be addressing this with Store Management. Are you able to provide me with a few more details such as what day you went, what you ordered or your bill number so that we can find out who your waiter was. Did a Manager come and check on your table at any time? On behalf of Butcher Block I would like to offer our sincere apologies and would like to invite you back for a complimentary meal in the hope that you will give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves and give you the dining experience that we expect for all our customers. Please can you send me your contact details to [email protected]
