Beef Taigen

Wow, the beef is really well cooked. For ordering, you get to choose the set that goes with your beef, then you get to select the part of beef you want. For those who cannot differentiate, they provide a description of the various parts (Not all parts are available everyday.). Then you get to choose how you want the meat to be cooked. English menu is available for those who cannot read Japanese. Drinks menu however is only available in Japanese, but the waitress can assist. So no worries. Finally, i have to say again that the cooking is superb and we just might go back again before we leave fukuoka.

Hakata Kira

Our hotel recommended this restaurant to us, and helped making reservation. We dined at the third floor teppanyaki table and the service was typically good. We were provided English and Chinese menu, and most staffs spoke passable English. We chose a 13,000 JPY set and there was a choice of loin and fillet for our beef, and they allowed us to split it among the six of us. They even served us that way. Both chefs were efficient and paid attention to details. The food was great including the seafood dish. I like the cooked vegetable salad. It was a good start to our Fukuoka/Kyushu trip

Wolfgang's Steakhouse Fukuoka

After 4 decades of experience, it is fair to say that Wolfgang Zwiener learned his craft well. Taking the core principles from his years as Peter Luger’s head waiter, Wolfgang didn’t just duplicate an exceptional steakhouse; he improved upon it making Wol

We were here for lunch and found the menu price for lunch to be extremely reasonable.Ambience is nice and service is ok, not excellent but friendly and acceptable.Food presentation is very simple for salad and beef.Beef is done just right but the quality is very average.... maybe due to the inexpensive lunch menu, quality matches.

Pork Steak Toichi

I only found this using google maps as you'll find it tucked down a side street and hard to find. But it is utterly worth it . There is no menu as they only serve one thing and that thing they do very well. What you get is a set starting with a salad bowl and then rice a miso soup and the star attraction a pork chop that's bigger than my hand and deboned and cooked to utter perfection served on a sizzler with onions. When it comes out it is not cooked right through but give it a couple of minutes on that hot plate and it's perfect. Juicy and succulent with just the right amount of seasoning. And the price...1000 yen lunch or dinner no wonder there is always a queue. And a better thing is if that's not enough you can get another sizzling plate of pork for 500 yen.Why the hell would you want to go to a yatai and get ripped off pay 600-800 yen minimum for a couple of skewers cooked in a questionable environment is beyond me.Please do yourself a favour and try and find place you won't regret it.
