Recently my wife and I wanted to celebrate our 52nd Anniversary (!) and we chose LongHorn Steakhouse This has become our go-to restaurant when we want good steak. They have a call-ahead feature, so the wait wasn't too long (even though this restaurant is very popular), the service was very good, and the steak is always tender and tasty. We've never had a bad experience here. A great place to celebrate!

J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato
Had a horrible experience at the new Plaza III the day before, so we tried this restaurant. It was FANTASTIC! Expensive, like Plaza III, but service was phenomenal and the food, absolutely delicious!! I really mean everything, every detail of the presentation and taste of the food was awesome. First class all the way!! Plaza III needs to take serious notes from J Gilbert's!

One of Kansas City's oldest restaurants did not disappoint. The service was beyond compare. Adored our waiter who was just attentive enough, funny enough and definitely knowledgeable enough about the menu to make the evening perfect. Loved the shrimp appetizer and our steaks were very good. One slight problem is that they were underdone. My husband sent his back and I wish I had but neither were horrendously rare. All in all a wonderful experience, generous pour on the drinks. We had a lovely time.

Fogo de Chão is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, which has specialized in fire-roasting high-quality meats since 1979 utilizing the centuries-old Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco. Fogo offers guests a wide variety of simpl
So I have the major failing of having traveled much in Brazil. As a consequence, I have been to many of the "rodizios" in Brazil, which are the prototype for this restaurant. Quite simply, Fogo de Chao, or any other US-based "Brazilian steakhouse" will never quite live up to it. As such, I will evaluate this place in the context of it being a Brazilian steakhouse in the US.The salad bar was well-appointed ... a particular standout was the caesar salad, which was crisp and nice, and had a dressing that was pretty much perfect. The various veggies and such were pretty nice, and the cheese/cold meats area was at least okay. The feijoada (bean stew) was okay, but not great ... it was just not as lively and tasty as it is in Brazil! The meat ... hmmmm ... well, the lamb steaks and the picanha and the garlic-crusted pork were all good. the chicken pieces were perhaps overly dry, though. The meat did not come out particularly often, such that the meal tended to drag on a bit. All in all, Fogo is on the very expensive side, and the food is good, but maybe not as spectacular as it should be for the price...

JJ's is one of the oldest independent restaurants in the Kansas City area. We have recently moved 800 ft away from our old location, to the main lobby of the new Polsinelli building in the west plaza area. We have a very contemporary dining menu and one o
We dined at JJ's on a recent visit to the Country Club Plaza. The wine list and menu were both extensive and varied....there is something for everyone. The restaurant décor is beautiful with upscale light fixtures, finishes and lots of beautiful ledgestone. The food was just OK - I ordered the boar ragu with parpadelle; my husband ordered a filet and mashed potatoes. Both portions were large. My husband's steak was partially underdone. He ordered it prepared medium and as he got to the end of it, part of it was raw. Our server never offered bread service; we were told we had to request it. We were out of town guests dining at JJ's for the first time and would have no idea we had to request bread service. When we asked for bread, she brought a basket of both crispy and soft bread items which were delicious. She never, however, brought us bread plates. Overall, she seldom checked on our dining experience, asked whether our food was to our liking or if we needed anything. We felt her service was average at best. Our bill was well over $100. We expected more value and a better experience for the price. The restaurant has underground parking and will validate it for restaurant diners which was a plus. We're uncertain if we'll return. There are many outstanding restaurants on the Country Club Plaza.

In the heart of Country Club Plaza and the mind of the true steak aficionado. The âcity of fountainsâ is overflowing with luck as it is also the city of our dry aged, hand cut beef. Come see why one Ingramâs critic wrote, âI was speechless.â Two new priva
This is an enormous restaurant but it is partitioned into multiple smaller rooms so that you do not feel like you are in a big crowd. From appetizer to dessert, the service is extraordinary. We had Michael as our server and he was delightful. We had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer along with 10 ounce filet, green beans and brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts are simply amazing and the steak was very tender. You definitely would want to go here to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

In Kansas City for two nights, on our way to Branson from family reunion in Iowa. Heard about Kansas City Steak, and had to try the 801 Chophouse. Used Uber to get here from our motel. Greeted and we had drinks at the bar. Upon seating at our table, Andrew was introduced and took Great care of us all evening. Great filet, and Ribeye , side of baked potatoes and carrots delivered and cooked to perfection. Great drink and wine selection. Very attentive staff, including managers, and support staff, very attentive and at the table several time throughout the evening . One of the best meals we have experienced while traveling all over the USA. Give the 801 Chophouse a visit, well worth your time !

We had been before and it was a good experience. However tonight Darius made our experience excellent. We took friends that had never been because we loved the food the first time. But with Darius as our waiter and the care and attention to detail, he made this experience beyond any expectation we may have had. Great food, phenomenal service. We will be back.
