One of Poland’s most beautiful cities, Gdansk, on the Baltic Sea, has played major roles in history, especially in the 20th-century. It was the 1939 flash point of World War II, and then in 1980, the birthplace of the Solidarnosc labor movement, ushering the end of Communist domination in Eastern Europe. Gdansk’s Old Town, painstakingly reconstructed to its Hanseatic League glory after being leveled in World War II, is a highlight. The 14th-century Town Hall houses the city’s historical museum.

We came upon this restaurant in Gdansk when looking for a good fish dinner. We were able to get in without a reservation, but one is recommended. The appetizer of marinated trout with beet root, caviar was delicious. My wife's main course was the best Halibut she ever had - buttery texture with risotto, celery, mushrooms, prawns. I had home made pappardelle fruitti di mare in a light but very flavorful broth - also outstanding. Our server was kind and friendly with excellent English and great knowledge of the restaurant's offerings. Atmosphere is sophisticated and modern. Many locals eat here - always a good sign, Truly a memorable meal.https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g274725-d12034043-r710003371-Correze-Gdansk_Pomerania_Province_Northern_Poland.html#Dear Neil what a wonderful review- thank You very much :) It was a huge pleasure to meet you. Arrived at the restaurant and was told that we booked the other restaurant in Gdansk which from the confirmation we had over email we hadn’t. We were taken to the other restaurant and when we got there we couldn’t get what we wanted. They could only offer us a £50.00 bottle of wine because the rest had been sold. The food was over priced and not what other restaurants in Gdansk offer. We walked out feeling that they tried to take money from us by telling us they didn’t have what we wanted. We felt disappointed as it was my husbands 40th birthday and we expected a nice meal but ended up going to a place then felt like they tricked the tourists into buying more expensive items than they should. Wouldn’t recommend the place at all and would warn other people to be wary if this. Gdansk is a beautiful place which doesn’t need restaurants like this.Dear Guest. The situation was completly different:) You came into our other restaurant - that's correct. Than the manager told You that You made a reservation in our other spot and gently walked to there. She also told You that She would keep You here but we didnt have even one table availble. We have Your reservation confirmation and it says SZEROKA STREET - so that is the restaurant she walked You to:).We are also sure that waiters didnt force You to buy an expensive wine . You wanted to order our house malbec wich we didnt have so the waiter offered You our second malbec wich costs a little bit more. Maybe if You gave us a chance and You would stay in the restaurant and try our steaks and wine You would leave a better opinion ;)The waiter came back to the table to talk and You were leaving... Anyway we hope You enjoyed Your stay in Gdansk and You will come back :)Best regards

Underwhelming is the best way to describe our experience at this restaurant. Firstly the stakes were excellent (but expensive for Poland) the sides were less than inspiring bordering on poor. The service was appalling it took over two hours to get drinks and our main course and the staff were just not interested. I would not go back.Dear trevwag, thank You for Your opinion. "Firstly the stakes were excellent (but expensive for Poland)" - we work with the best product You can get and that is why Your steak ware excellent...maybe a bit more expensive, but as You mention excellent "it took over two hours to get drinks and our main course" - please describe Your waiter, give as date and time of Your stay. We will check our cameras. Please forgive me, but we never had such an situation. It is not possible, two hours for drinks and food… and You didn’t leave …

We were determined to eat some seafood in Gdansk, so we looked for a seafood restaurant though we were not hungry. I ordered grilled shrimp and salad while my friend ordered a seafood platter. The shrimp was fresh, well-spiced, and well-cooked with slight smoky flavor from the charcoal. The bruschetta with the tomato-based salsa was a great pair for the shrimps. The seafood platter contained mussels, shrimps, crayfish, calamary. I tried only the calamary and it was really nice. The house salad had a perfectly-balanced salty, sweet, sour, and oily taste, which was refreshing the pallatte after the seafood. The orange juices were freshly squeezed. Was totally satisfying food experience!
