We went to the restaurant to try the empanadas, but were we surprised. The salad, the soup, the shrimps and of course the empanadas were amazingly delicious. However the surprise was the steak, it tasted like butter, it made me wonder what have we been eating all of those years. After eating there i'm not sure i would be able to eat another steak! The host/waiter was kind, witty and had a great sense of humor. If you have just one day in Cologne, i would suggest eating there.

We had the most wonderful food and wine at this restaurant. It doesn't look anything special from the inside, however once you venture into the restaurant itself you'll be treated to a fantastic choice of food and wine. If we ever return to Dusseldorf, we will most certainly returning to El Lazo. Please do try it if you like good quality steak and a nice choice of wine.

Excellent service with friendly, attentive and polite staff.Lovely ambience The of the meal was delicious. However, the bread served was disappointing, but the chimichurri was super. The empanada's were very well done. We ordered the rump steak, a sirloin and a rib-eye and the steaks were all delicious. The spinach was lovely and different fries were full of flavour and tasty. El Tarascon is highly recommended and we will return. Thank you for a wonderful meal, my children and I enjoyed ourselves.

Unfortunately the food wasn't freash. We order about 8 tapas. Non of them was good. Full with oil and was served cold.Dear Mayan,we are really sorry you feel that way. We can assure you that we select the ingredients of our tapas with great care, we buy at the local market and get our meat from a farmer. All our ingredients are fresh. In addition, our kitchen stuff puts a lot of effort in preparing delicious dishes. Some tapas are served cold, but that is signalled in the menu. Five of us ate here on a Friday night, (It is only small and bookings are essential). All of us enjoyed our steaks. I had the Brochet which is 4 cuts of the finest steak and it was well worth the 36 euros. We didn't find this final bill that expensive compared to other places we ate in Dusseldorf, so do feel this quality restaurant is value for money.
