Texas Roadhouse

Went on a Friday night for a birthday dinner. Wait is usually about 20 minutes at this time. When the buzzer went off on the beeper walked up front and an employee took it and said we would be seated shortly. Saw 3 other families seated first, so I walked up to the check in and they apologized as they somehow skipped over us. No big deal as the person who sat us was very apologetic. Hot break to start is great. Had Filet and rib combo. Steak was very good, but the ribs are amazing fall off the bone ribs. They have good choice of sides too. Price is reasonable. Highly recommend the ribs.

Dined at Flemings while in Newport in August 2015. My parents had been here a couple of times. We'd never been since we hadn't been to SoCal since 2010. Very busy dining room, packed with people. We were seated in a more private location off the main dining room. Little more quiet here. Very tender filet mignon and their famous potatoes. I wish the portion of the potatoes was larger as they're very good. My Mum started making them at home a couple years ago on special occasions. Molten lava cake was very light like a soufflé and delicious too. Service was very good, friendly and didn't hover. Very nice dining experience here. Located in fashion island parking lot.

We appreciated the relaxing ambiance with quiet music. Our server was helpful and super efficient. Although they don’t have a burger on their dinner menu, they were more than accommodating in offering the one that is on their bar menu. Extra star for that! The chicken piccata over a bed of pasta was yummy but a tad bit oversized for my smaller appetite. Not a complaint; just noted.

Outback Steakhouse

Over the last year I would say we've been to maybe 15 Walkabout Wednesdays. My wife will usually get the loaded baked potato or the asparagus with the up charge. I will usually upcharge to the wedge salad. This works out perfectly with our dine-rewards program which exceeds the $20 minimum.Tonight we went to the Lady Lake, Florida location, in celebration of my Mrs walking again. She suffered a severe head injury in late May and was bedridden for nearly 5 weeks. For the last 2 1/2 weeks she's been walking some and hinting about going out to Outback for the Walkabout Wednesday. Tonight seem to great time to get her out of the house, do a little bit of walking, and get her back into some of her routines. When we ordered tonight's Walkabout we were told we could not do any substitution or upgrades, so we both ended up with fries and I did go ahead and order the wedge ala carte.I imagine on the menu where it says upgrade any classic side to a premium side it mentions not available on walkabout Wednesdays... It's a shame that for the sake of $1 or $2 that the Outback Corporation will now make, they will not be off my list of favorite places to go to.What disappoints me most, is that I was looking forward to make me a nice evening out for my wife after her long recuperation. It hurts me that it didn't live up to her expectations.I did mention our disappointment to the shift manager when she stopped by the table, she started corporate had made them get strict over the last two weeks or so, and there was nothing she could do about it.So Outback Corporate, give me a reasonable option, charge an extra $1 or $2 to upgrade a Walkabout Wednesday. Funny the first review I see about Walkabout Wednesday on Trip Advisor was back 2016 talks about upgrading the fries to garlic mashed potatoes and how wonderful that was. Make all your customers visits "wonderful." Enforcing a policy after two years of leniency, just makes bad business sense and creates unhappy customers, by building expectations.
