The ambience was good. The service okay, if you ignore the lack of table cutlery, and a wine pouring that excluded the very person ordering/tasting the $95 bottle!!? The food was okay. The fois gras poutine was a moulded, unappealing mess. The calamari acceptable. Two out of five diners did not like their steaks. Sauce accompaniments were thimble size, with the bernaise leaning heavily on Dijon mustard. The sides (mushrooms, green beans) were ordinary, and the wilted spinach small and unappetizing. Double baked potatoes leaned to the dry side. The $20 dessert cheese platter came with very small portions that might have cost $10 all together. With an $800 bill for 5 guests, I could have done twice as better for half the price at home. Overall, over-rated!

Dined here while on an across Canada trip on 16th September. Chose this place at random. We were seated quickly outside on a very warm evening and were able to watch the comings and going. Kate, our server, was bright and engaging. Warm fresh bread to start. Our mains were Crab cakes â small and a bit cold; Steak â very tender. Ordered vegetables that we didnât get. The Keg Innis Reisling was lovely. Our bill was $69.50. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Après toute une journée de magasinage, vous méritez un bon verre de vin au bar très animé du populaire steakhouse et bar Bâton Rouge Hull-Gatineau.
We went for their lunch specials which include soup and coffee or tea. at around $15. Carrot and ginger soup was good. The potato soup was more like mashed potatoes topped with green onions and bacon. Quite tasty, actually, but maybe too filling as an appetizer. Burger was dry: with too little of the promised components, i.e. mustard, mayo, pickles, red onion, etc .Even the bread was dry. Same for the lobster sandwich which was rather a lobster salad sandwich: big difference, especially in the quantity of lobster, which was very little. But the sweet potato fries were out of this world. Everythning was super hot, and the service was first class.Thank you for your review. I will most certainly discuss this with staff and make sure we get it right for your next visit.Thank you again Team BR
