If you are visiting nearby Nevada City and Virginia City, drifting down toward Yellowstone or Ennis and other fly-fishing spots, or simply wandering through beautiful southwestern Montana, try the Maverick in Alder. The food is American with some nice variations. The Swissy is a great grilled cheese sandwich with an interesting, tangy mustard sauce, for example. The service is gracious and prompt and the surroundings bright and comfortable.

Don't let the laid back atmosphere fool you, the food is fantastic. A quirky bartender (possible owner?) took our order and entertained us while we waited. The steak is cooked over an open flame and rare is actually rare.

Peaks is currently closed for the off-season and will be reopening December 6th for breakfast and December 17th for lunch and dinner. We hope to see you then! With an award winning wine list and spectacular views, Peaks is an excellent choice for anytime
The ambiance and the service were excellent. We had elk and bison, both were very good. It was not cheap, but not ridiculously over-priced either. Beer and wine list was very impressive. I would eat here again.Thank you for taking the time to review Peaks Restaurant and give us a 4 star rating! Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and very important to us. We hope to see you back again soon.

This historic lodge offers a one-stop location for Restaurant, Bar, Casino and Lodging. The Sportsmanâs Lodge offers the relaxed country atmosphere and hospitality that Big Sky Country is known for. In an area known for its natural beauty, Ennis, as well
The Sportsman Lodge and Restaurant were recently purchased by really nice people who care about quality and service. The food has gone up a notch. The inside was recently renovated and the beers were super cold. Love the Hot Pepper Cheese Burger and just a great place to go with the family. Outside patio, casino and bar, Lodging on-site. This is the new happening spot in Ennis.

The grand Wells Fargo building has been a restaurant since Charlie Bovey resurrected it in the fifties. With its tall tin ceilings, a grand horseshoe bar, ballroom-sized dining room, and historic Virginia City setting, the Wells Fargo has been a longtime
We didn't have a reservation. Had to sit at the bar. Food was pricier than we are accustomed to, in a hurry to see a show. All these things working against this place; BUT we had one of the better meals of the trip. We shared a Steak and an order of Alfredo. Delicious. We paid upon service and made our show. If you want to eat in the summer make reservations. Lots of locals eat here

Reservations are a must, however the reservation system is ridiculous and not closely monitored. Be prepared to follow the instructions on the voice mail (" Leave a phone number, # of people and the requested reservation time and we will call you back "only" if the requested time is not available,"); arrive on time only to be told that they didn't get your reservation because we haven't listened to our voicemail reservation system. Your name is placed on list and they will seat you as soon as possible. So you order drinks and wait a bit, no problem and then, after you have checked and been told that there are some people leaving and you will get a table soon, you order a second round of drinks only to be told, after 45 minutes or so that yes, even though there are empty tables and we can sit at them, they will not be able to take our food order - not even a "to go" order would be placed. They are, however, more than happy to allow you to continue ordering drinks. My very large, family has cabins in the area and have returned each summer for over 40 years and while the food is good, management is lacking and the service has become selective and extremely disappointing.

We didnât have use of a car whilst staying at the ranch so we had to eat twice onsite. The restaurant menu had two distinct sides the $10-12 side and the $27-44 side and not much in between. Everything we ate was tasty and plentiful. The carrot cake is highly recommended as is the carrot and ginger soup. Thank you so much for your kind review - glad that you enjoyed our steakhouse. The carrot cake is a big hit... and the chef's always make amazing soups...

Buckâs T-4 sets the bar for great food in Big Sky. Service is excellent, ambience traditional Montana. The red deer is a family favorite. Walleye also excellent. Nice wine list with a few reasonably priced selections. A shuttle will pick you up and return you if you need a designated driver.

The restaurant was recommended by my husbandâs fishing guide....and he was right on!! Everything was delicious! The bread and slightly sweet butter was a nice beginning and our salad and clam chowder were both tasty! Our filet was perfectly cooked! The only negative was a barely warm baked potato....had to ask for cheese....no chives! Drinks were good and wait staff was efficient and friendly!
