It is known as the "Gateway to the Costa Brava". Its coast is part of the Costa Brava, which stretches from Blanes up to the French border. The township is 18.29 km². Blanes is a popular tourist town, and it is known for the Concurs de Focs d'Artifici during the Santa Anna festival; this event includes a lot of fireworks. Other places of interest include a botanical gardens, coves, such as the Cala Bona, and beaches which are surrounded by mountains.

We had read the reviews and easily found this restaurant, the outside décor leaves you in no doubt as to what type of restaurant this is! We opted for steaks and ribs and were not disappointed.The extras do push the prices up, and the mushrooms are certainly not worth the cost, especially when they charge for mayo and ketchup. The staff work hard but the service seems hectic. Sit inside or out, we would return on the basis of the food.Thank you for a your generous review.Most of our clients are from mainland europe where it is standard to charge for extras which is our policy, if you don't want it you don't pay.July and August are peak times for us in terms of customer level and we have a lot of waiters at this time. We have enjoyed a much higher number of clients late in this season than normal so the waiting staff have had to respond to demand, I'm sorry if it seemed hectic, victims of our success I guess!!Thanks for you possitive comments and I hope you accept my explaination.Alex.

We visited here on the second last night of our holiday. My husband is a meat eater & had lovely ribs & steak. Portions were big & he was very happy. I had a salad as I'm vegetarian & it was the best salad I had in a long time. Staff were very prompt & friendly to our little daughter. The place looks great and the staff were attentive. The empanadas and canellones were good. We wouldn't recommend fish - the one we had was undercooked and didn't appear to be properly gutted. Wouldn't recommend the salad with strips of milanesa either.Also beware they charge â¬2 for refilled glass water bottles (each approx 500ml) - 'distilled' water that tastes remarkably like Blanes tap water.We feel you did not like the fish or the salad. We hope you return soon to try our variety of menu and we also feel that our demineralized water that comes out of the machine did not like you.Thanks for coming.
