Owners Craig and Samantha Cordts-Pearce of the Wild Fig and Brexi Brasserie have opened a new restaurant called Steak HOUSE No. 316. Exceptional prime steaks as well as fish & fowl.
People told us that it's the best steak in the country. Maybe that's true. It's certainly isn't known for its chicken, which was pretty mediocre, at best. If weather permits, choose to eat outside. The interior is so dark, you can hardly find your way to the rest rooms. Waiters were not overly friendly. Like most of the restaurants in Aspen, everything was pricey. Definitely does not merit a repeat visit.

I think that this is the best restaurant in Aspen. Whatâs so good? First, the wine list is exceptional, including great expensive wines and terrific reasonably priced wines. The BEST DISH ON THE MENU is the table-side made, excellent Caesar salad, which is superb.

We stopped in for lunch. It was good. Not earth shattering. But all quality and we cleaned out plates. Service was a little slow, but is was New Years Day. Bottom line, very nice. follow us at @nickellfamilytravel
