We finally found good Mexican food in Novi!! Cute little Mexican restaurant with an authentic cuisine and live music. I recommend the Pollo Ranchero. Chips were hot and guacamole was excellent. We had excellent service as well. We will be back!!
Alchile is probably the closest thing to an authentic Mexican meal in the area in a casual dining environment. Really excellent food priced very reasonably, with friendly owners and great quick service and awesome food. The flan is to seriously maim for. The range of tacos is amazing- from the somewhat uncommon beef cheek, to lamb to carnitas and more and every single one is great. Since a taco order comes with three tacos and you can choose a different topping for each, you can make your way through the menu. The tamales are also great and the cops are crunchy and the various sauces range from warm to spicy hot. A great casual dining experience for then you feel the need for real Mexican tacos.

It took a bit for us to get seated when we asked if we could have a table instead of a booth for the 5 of us, the waiter or host seemed utterly confused. We sat down and got our menus quickly, but then it took us over 5 mins to get our waters and we were told our drink order would come shortly. Our drinks didn't come for another 15-20mins and mine Jarrito Mango that I had ordered and the waiter had even repeated back the flavor to make certain didn't bring it. I told him I didn't want the drink order anymore and he told me I never ordered the drink. My family was stunned at how clueless he was and all heard me order it and heard him recognize my order. Our food came almost an hour after we had ordered and we had run out of chips. I asked the waiter for more but he didn't bring out more and I ended up asking another waiter and he reminded our waiter and he begrudgingly came out with more chips a bit later. My spinach enchilada was very tart and bitter and wasn't how I expected a spinach enchilada to taste and my chalupa was so wilted, that I just ate the top of it. My man said his fish tacos were just okay and his son ordered 3 tacos and a side of bean and rice and ended up getting a full plate of each, which was too much for a 10 year old and cost more, which the waiter never explained. The meal took us over 2 hours for start to finish with delay in drinks and food and then getting the waiter to take our bill. We took the bill up front to pay it ourselves. One of the waiters told my father in law that his veteran's card was no good and asked if he had another card in order to give him a discount, he walked away and let someone else deal with it. This was the 2nd and worst experience at the grand azteca and from the sounds of it the workers definitely need some training in customer service mx they are clearly deficient.
