We are a big family that strives year after year to offer something unique. Castilleria is a trendy place located in a nature environment of clean air with the best raw materials grilled. Castilleria tells its history and its landscape on the table; in th
Been yesterday for late dining and its definitely impressive the huge range and quality of their beef steaks! Difficult to find something similar. NOTICE: if you are not familiar with beef meat better to ask staff for recommendation as tastes of beef are different and many different beefs there, also it depends of maturated time and years (not better or worst, im talking about its taste). We came by recommendation as it is really lost in the middle of a non remarkable area but worth the hassle to find it! prices not cheap but matching or even below food quality. Its not a matter of elaboration if you know what i mean, its a matter of impressive range quality beef meat. Huge range of wines. We been 5, eating the best steaks and drinking, payed 280 euros, so not bad really for the quality. Staff and service very correct. I have been told its difficult to book there and gets really busy, so make sense to book before drive far, but you will not regret. To be recommended 101%. We will be back!

We needed something different, I fancied a burger, this place came recommended by friends and so ticked both boxes. Ideally weâd have delved deeper into the menu, the chicken in Moroccan spices with manzanilla sounds fantastic. As autumn draws in all the evening diners enjoyed the smart interior seating and easily accessible attentive staff. 2 burgers, 2 glasses of the Barbazul (a smooth red wine from Cádiz) and a Vejer beer for â¬40. ...and I almost forgot to mention the excellent home made ketchup.

The first week we have been eating at different places until we found Marengo which is the best restaurant of high quality food in town. Not cheap, but what is the worth of one perfectly prepared steak at a reasonable price compared to some medium quality at some euros cheaper. After four days in a row we will definitely repeat next year.

We walked into La Oficina because it looked friendly and we were not disappointed! It was our best meal in Vejer. The idea to share plates which come 1 after the other worked really well. The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was good, the pictures on the wall are great. It's obvious the chefs want to see your reaction to their food and the set up allows it. We spent more money than we had intended to but it was really worth it.Thanks to all staff for a fantastic evening!

Taberna Restaurant located in the most photographed street of Vejer, terrace with unique views of the village, Mediterranean and vegetarian food of the area. Andalusian wines and tapas
Tucked away under the castle walls this is easily missable on multiple strolls around Veyer. For wine lovers, look beyond the impressive food reviews which are likely focused on the upstairs restaurant rather than than tapas space downstairs and street side, just settle in and enjoy the wine and sherry available at a good price. Tag on some tapas by all means, we had 4 and needed no more given our wine focus.

Firstly you canât get anywhere near this restaurant by car, you have to leave your car at the bottom of Vejer and walk up. It gets busy so to be guaranteed a table itâs best to book. Spanish and English menus with lots of very interesting dishes with some unusual ingredients like cod swim bladder (callo de bacalao). Not brave enough to try this I opted for a cold soup, Porra Antequerana which is a thicker version of gazpacho and was delicious, after this I ordered an Asian influenced dish âensalada templada con huevoâ which had lots of different elements and was really tasty, I didnât like the presentation much though in a big jar. My partner had lasagna made with matured Retinta beef which is a local breed of cattle, it was very clever, whereby they had deconstructed the dish and made a much lighter version with a crispy topping. For desserts we had chocolate brownie with ice-cream and their fake tomato stuffed with mousse, which had a slight savoury element about it. We really enjoyed the food here, it was exciting and different, full of flavour and cooked with flair, what we didnât like here was the service. They had 2 waiters running the entire restaurant and the bar, we had enormous waits between dishes and many of the dishes we ended up receiving separately instead of together. On this occasion we didnât mind too much as we had nowhere else to be, we would definitely come here again for lunch, but only when we have the whole afternoon to spare! Therefore even though the food was great I have had to mark it down because of the incredibly slow service.

We were staying in the countryside near the lovely town of Vejer and were looking for Sunday lunch. We chose this restaurant and where happy with our choice. A buffet with lots of variety and everything freshly cooked- we especially liked the Lentil soup which was delicious as were the Corn cakes with black bean sauce. Service very attentive and friendly. All at a very reasonable price. The restaurant is off the beaten track but if you persist you will have a lovely time.

The food, service and relaxed, casual atmosphere here are wonderful. We stayed at the La Brena hotel for a week and ate in the hotelâs restaurant three times. The tuna dishes are very good and well worth trying. The wines are excellent, too, and offer tremendous value for money. If you visit Los Canos de Meca, give this place a try!

Dirección familiar, cuidado y mimo en los detalles, todo en un entorno encantador con grandes jardines, tarima de madera, y siempre manteniendo la esencia de esta zona rural.
This is a delightful semi outdoor restaurant, under a canopy in a lovely garden. The restaurant is busy, and well organised by friendly, attentive but not fussy staff. The ambience is relaxed, and the focus is very much on the food. Starters show plenty of choice; we had superb croquetas and a plate of tempura anchovies. Be warned; the plate of anchovies is massive, and plenty for two as a starter or even a light lunch! Given the area, the red tuna is a must try, and a whole section of the menu is devoted to this local delicacy. We were not disappointed; serving tuna as a tartare or sashimi style demands the freshest and highest quality fish, and thatâs exactly what we got. Tartare was served on a guacamole style base, and was subtly marinaded. The sashimi had been seared very quickly with a coating of sesame and poppy seeds, then served with wasabi and a soy dip. Both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Sharing from each otherâs plates in the Spanish style is expected and encouraged, and we took full advantage! There is a small range of desserts, again, beautifully prepared and served. We can recommend the cheesecake with fig compote(sounds a bit âho humâ, but not when itâs as well done as this!), and my personal star of the show, âla Brena â. This is a house dish made from local ingredients, and Iâve never tasted anything like it. Itâs a mousse, but with some really unusual textures and flavours, and definitely not to be missed. We were watching other dishes coming out from the charcoal-grill equipped kitchen, and thinking âI want to try thatâ. Weâre going back....
