Introduction to the wonderful cuisine of chef Pedro Subijana and his ingenuous dishes from Basque country. Seafood at ita best, wonderful sommelier service, a place to come back. Bravo le chef. Basque traditional quality food at good prices and a nice terrace..
The receptionist in our hotel recommended this little local restaurant, and we certainly weren't disappointed. It is in an old building in the centre of the town, and had lovely beams and stone walls. We visited on a Friday night and when we arrived at 8.45 p.m. we were the only guests there, but by 9 p.m. the place was bursting at the seams with local people. The waitress didn't speak any English and we don't speak any Basque, but we still managed to have a great meal! We always try to eat in local restaurants rather than touristy places and certainly didn't disappoint, great food, wine and atmosphere.

My wife and I had high expectations for this one star Michelin restaurant and we were not disappointed. The interior has a clean "country modern" elegance. The tables are widely spaced. Interestingly, there is no music in the background, lending to the calm, peaceful atmosphere. We did not opt for the tasting menu. Instead we created our own mini-tasting menus. This is facilitated by the restaurant's wise and generous practice of allowing half portions for many of the appetizers and main courses. This is an idea that should be adopted more universally! Outstanding starting courses included steak tartare (very large portion), oxtail ravioli (delicious, but tiny portion and surprisingly more expensive than the steak) and octopus tartar. The 2 fish dishes (half portions) were superb; both seemed to "melt" in our mouths. We finished with 2 desserts (probably should have ordered only one!) - chocolate soufflé's and a carmelized french toast creation. More wows! Wine was very affordable, with an excellent selection. Service was perfect - attentive, coordinated, friendly, informative. This was a terrific experience.

AGORREGI restaurant, located in Donostia-San Sebastian, offers to his clients a quality service and dishes made using the best ingredientes selected by the chef Gorka Arzelus. Welcome.Gorka Arzelus has worked with the best Basque chefs: Martin Berasategi,
I was treating my boyfriend with a dinner in San Sebastián for his birthday. Iâm so lucky I chose this restaurant even though itâs not in the city centre. Totally worth the taxi drive! The food was impeccable. We had a tasting menu and waitress completed it with matching wines. Service was perfect but still relaxed (I donât like too serious service). If I ever return to San Sebastián I will definitely come back!

We came abou this popular sidreria by chance, Our host (the room we had rented was nearby) told us that at this late hour (almost 22.00) this was the only open place in the area.We were quite hungry, and were immediately told that the onlly available option was Txuleta. We had no idea what we were up to and ordered two servings and cider. We were presented with two ENORMOUS portions, extremely tasty and special. The atmosphere was incredible, with people sharing the long common bare wooden tables and enjoying their meals. The most aithentic feeling in this part of Spain!

Our lunch at Martin Berastegui was one of our top 3 dining experiences ever, and possibly the best. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant is located in the hills outside of Donostia San Sebastian in a beautiful garden setting. Lovely décor - Not many tables, but all were full. Service was impeccable â polite, efficient and pleasant. And the food â beyond amazing. Every course was beautifully presented, creative and often hid a special surprise. Flavours bursting in your mouth, one thing appearing to be something totally different. Each serving was not more than a good mouthful but so much more because of the blends and mixtures of flavours. It was clear why this restaurant has 3 michelin stars â it was above and beyond the usual dining experience. We were so happy when Chef Martin himself came over to our table so we could tell him how much we enjoyed the meal. Special thanks also to the staff who booked our reservation and for follow up correspondence!

This is a great place to dine all year around. They have a cider house (sidreria) menu, but also an open menu to try other options. It is an all you can drink (cider, wine and Champagne) for a fixed price. I recommend this place for small and big groups and it is necessary to reserve during the weekends.

The Artzabal has a large terrace where you can enjoy your drinks and pintxos (fingerfood) when the weather is fine. It also serves a daily menú for 9,50⬠during the week and a 19⬠special menú on weekends. Most customers are locals, the atmosphere is relaxed, service friendly and toilets clean. On the bar counter they have a wide selection of pintxos which are mostly sold at 1⬠each and are quite tempting.
