La Cantina is a suburban tapas bar in the middle of Heaton Moor. Serving Spanish gin, traditional regional tapas & a range of imported beer & wine. Open daily. We operate a waiting list system at busy periods, due to our no bookings policy.
Went here last night with family and the whole experience was excellent.Olivia, our waitress was lovely and the service was spot on, even though the place was busy.Decided initially to have 5 tapas and some drinks, and repeated the same 30 minutes later. All 10 different tapas dishes were truly outstanding and all 4 of us enjoyed every single mouthful. The wine was great and Spanish beer really complimented the food.We spend 50% of the year in Spain and I can honestly say that we have not had a better tapas anywhere.Would recommend 100%

An outstandingly good restaurant in the heart of Marple, No. 48 Kitchen & Bar offers authentic Spanish cuisine in homely, attractive surroundings; behind the traditional exterior of a house in Stockport Road, Marple, there beats a rather unexpected heart,
Recently went here for a lunchtime treat and we were not disappointed, as a customer for some years, I have noticed quite a few changes were over time, but I have to say that the Spanish style food has always been the real speciality of this place. The building is used well with tables out front and cosy spots inside as well. There is a good bar area if you like and the staff are always helpful and friendly enough. Generally the food is excellent value, with good portions and genuinely fresh food. We shared a Catalanya Paella which was far superior than any other/chains outlets offering 'Spanish Food" which have been poor in comparison. I had to ask the waiter to box up the rest of the Paella as we could not finish it and I did not want to waste such a tasty and exciting dish. Good to see that as well as offering lots of fashionable Gin drinks, they also have a good selection of beers including 'Craft Beers' so it was hard to resist a quick BrewDog.We were not rushed or pushed into making our order quickly so we were able to sit and relax and enjoy the flavours of Spain. Useful to know is that there is parking at the rear, so come early and get a spot. One other note was the brilliant strong and rich coffee that is served here - not to be missed! If you like it strong and continental style then make sure you try this one.
