In a desperate move to avoid German food whilst in Hamburg, I stumbled upon this place. It was very busy so a good sign and I squeezed in at the bar. The head waiter was most helpful and patient and recommend an array of dishes. I went for 3 (which is more than enough for 1 person as portions are big and they give you bread) and all were excellent. Beer and wine selection also top quality and sampled a bit of both. Place got even busier as evening went on so either book or get in there early, it is clearly a successful and popular place to eat.

Portuguese dishes in Hamburg. This restaurant is within walking distance to the place where the boat we are staying is berthing at the Baumwall. We shared a 3-course meal. It started with the âgambasâ or prawn in garlic, olive oil, and white wine. The second or main was fish with at least 3 kinds of sauces. All absolutely delicious. We were seated outside and itâs perfect in a summer evening. Good service too!!

I checked the ratings before coming here but did not read or saw pics. Therefore I was really (positively) surprised by the atmosphere here. Nice singer, they make suggestions for the food courses and are super friendly. Can only highly recommend. Am actually considering to come tomorrow again ;)

Visited this lovely restaurant on a busy Saturday late pm having been recommended by our cycle tour guide. The restaurant was buzzing-mainly with locals which is always a good sign. The food was delicious-the freshest of seafood-and vinho verde was served by the carafe so pretty much perfect! The service was excellent-very experienced staff who knew exactly what to do.

My husband and I have dined at this little restaurant across the street from our hotel twice this week. Both nights the restaurant was busy. The aroma was inviting. We were happy to find an open table. The people around us all looked happy and their plates looked delicious. What attracted us to this restaurant in the Portuguese part of Hamburg was seeing someone eating paella while sitting outdoors a day earlier. We ordered the paella and a pot of mussels in white wine with Sangria for me and red wine for my husband.Paella is a dish prepared from scratch and I believe, with love. We didn't mind the 30 minute wait. Our dinners arrived and my eyes saw more food than we could or should eat.Eat we did, and eat and eat. When I finished the entire delicious pot of savory muscles a man sitting at the table next to us smiled and asked if I had enough. I assured him I had. My husband didn't want a single bite of the seafood in his paella to go too waste. He succeeded in leave only a little of the safron yellow rice in the pan.We were happy and full. No dessert was needed. We enjoyed a cool tasty shot of a liquor which all of the diners were offered after the meal.Tonight we returned and we were greeted cheerful by a server who remembered us. We ordered calamari and fried peppers as appetizers. I enjoy calamari in Europe so much more than in the U.S. The peppers were small and flavorful. Our entree was, of course, paella. This time we ordered one to be shared. Again, it was delicious. We had a little room left for homemade desserts of flan and creme brulee. Both were perfect. A little liquor, the check(cash or a EuroCard only)and it was our last night in Hamburg.
