Stopped for dinner at Cerveceria Capota and was impressed by the variety and quality of the tapas. Our server Katy was wonderful and attentive making sure we had wine and food. I strongly recommend the pulpo (octopus), the stuffed peppers with cod and the salmon stuffed with crab. We finished with both their standard cheesecake and the apple cake which had a cheesecake consistency. Both were very good but the group favorite was the standard cheesecake because of the caramel used top.

In Braseria GRAN FERRETERIA you will find the finest grilled meat, such as T-bone steaks, burgers, racks of lamb, grilled chorizo or grilled blood sausage, while enjoying a wide selection of Spanish wines, mostly local "La Rioja" wines. Our outdoor cafe i
We visited this restaurant today whilst holidaying in the area. We received a lovely welcome and, being English with no Spanish language abilities, our waitress asked a colleague with some command of English to come and explain the menu to us. We chose the Menu of the Day which provided us with a selection of 3 courses and either a half bottle of wine or water each and all for 12 Euros. The food was really fresh, hot and tasted wonderful. As we had not drunk all our wine, we were given the bottle to take away with us. We highly recommend this establishment.

We just wanted a straightforward meal in the evening close to the centre of town and this resturant is situated on the big square next to the Cathedral. It's decor is nothing special, but clean and cheerful. The menu of the day (Menu del Dia) was a mere â¬10 per person including wine, water and bread - and 3 courses at that! It wasn't anything special, but there was quite a few choices, plenty of food, and it was freshly prepared. The wine was OK, the water replenished at no extra cost. The only extra charge was for coffee at the end - just â¬1.10 each. Excellent value, good food, clean and friendly; what more do you want?

We were staying on the Parador, and ate in the restaurant for 3 evenings during our 5 night stay. Each time the service was impeccable and friendly, and there is a good selection of local wines. The food was excellent value and well presented. I particularly enjoyed Fideua (a bit like paella but with noodles not rice) and the risotto as starters and the octopus main course was delicious. For me the only negatives are that it is a little lacking in atmosphere (although perfect if you want a nice quiet meal) and it doesn't open till 8:30 in the evening which is rather late for me, however by the end of our stay I had switched over to Spanish time!

Con un ambiente muy familiar y comida casera de la zona, disfruta de platos combinados y nuestra especialidad de fin de semana la menestra de verduras y los domingos con cordero asado.Hacemos comidas por encargo y aceptamos grupos con maximo de 50 persona
I really cannot believe that Casa Amparo has not received any reviews on this excellent website. We stayed three nights in the Parador Fresneda but ate every night at this welcoming restaurant. If you want haute cuisine and wine at ridiculous prices then it's not for you. If you are looking for a superb, value for money eating and wining experience, then this is the place to go.We were given a delightful welcome by the owner and his (only) waitress, and the vino de la casa appeared immediately. The service was perfect and the food was exactly what we were looking for. Try the fish soup as a starter, I have not had a better fish soup anywhere on the continent. All this for less than thirty euros for the two of us, vino included - unbelievable. All other diners were local people who were obviously regular customers. What better recommendation do you need?

If the food had delivered, the grotty room could have passed as an authentic experience. However, the food was plain and out of a can. I expect the traditional cooking of the region is far more interesting and that this institutions claim is an insult to Rioja. A ten year old with a slight interest in cooking could do better than this.

The formal dining room was full so we got a table in the busy bar cum restaurant. Enjoyed excellent patatas bravas described as spicy and they were. Main courses of vegetarian pizza and campanola salad were both excellent. Tasty cheesecake too. A nice touch was the complimentary glass of Cava. In an area with a great emphasis on meat and fish dishes this was a welcome find. House wine â¬8.50.Buenos dÃas topxiMuchas gracias por tu comentario y esperamos que vuelvas pronto.Un saludo de La Strada.

This is a small family run restaurant but with fine taste. Decor is calm/modern. Location is right on Cathedral square - Warm welcome from owner and his son and fine food. Particularly enjoyed the starters of stuffed pimento and excellent pumpkin with asparagus soup; main of lamb very good; fine desserts. Enjoyed sheepâs milk posset with wine soaked figs. Very reasonable wine list - excellent meal at â¬90 for 2. Recommend for an evening meal above the average.

In the heart of the old town and just behind the cathedral, this restaurant has a lovely interior and great service. The multi-lingual staff were very pleasant and helpful. The menu is varied and mouth-watering and the food did not disappoint. The beef was perfectly cooked and the two cod dishes were excellent. Stand out dish was suckling pig. Reasonable prices for fine dining. A great experience and highly recommended.

Old cellar of the 16th century. Building of stone and wood. Five rooms with different atmospheres. Covered terrace and outside. More than 1000 m2 garden. Children's games. Parking for more than 50 vehicles. Two underground Cellars or "calados". Creative a
This is one of the better restaurants in the Rioja wine region and has a reputation for that even though there is no particular reason to visit Casalareina among quite a few not particularly charming surrounding towns. Wine tourism is the main attractive but a few have from good to outstanding restaurants. La Vieja Bodega is well known for its traditional Riojan food and we enjoyed that. The tomatoes with olive oil and basil were flavorful but the menestra was a little overcooked. On the other hand, the pig trotters were prepared to perfection. The popular ham croquettes were very good but not among the best we have eaten elsewhere. The berries desert was good and light for an after meal and the wine list good with offers in half bottles which we enjoy if needing to drive afterwards. The Sierra Cantabria red was very good and the price adequate. The food prices are moderate and the service a little rough perhaps appropriate for a large lumbering , clean, place as its name indicates. Parking was free.
