La Chabola is a slice of Asturian (and Canarian) food heaven in North Tenerife. This charming and cosy restaurant with super views, successfully manages to combine two distinct styles in the traditional Spanish restaurant form - with a twist. If you've never sampled either region's cuisine - prepare to be blown away... (which could also occur if you over-indulge on the mouth-watering Asturian bean dishes: fabada or fabes...) Canarian food is definitely worth exploring and Asturian new cuisine is enough to make San Sebastian wobble on its culinary perch. If you're a foodie exploring the Island, don't miss this little star off your list.Quality/price/service/atmosphere - OutstandingQuite how a restaurant can serve such great food at this kind of price is intriguing. If you opt for the lunchtime Menu del Dia, you'll be set for the rest of the day and will probably need a siesta to recover. Enjoy 3 courses with drink and bread included - for under 8 euros per person. From traditional Asturian classics (see below) to delicious Canarian cuisine - including the classic (and, some say, the best on the Island) dish "La Ropa Vieja" (a nutritious broth made from chickpeas, chicken or veal and vegetables) - this is a restaurant worth discovering.. La Chabola has some stellar Asturian dishes to try before you die:Fabada Asturiana - La Chabola serves quite possibly the finest home style fabada outside Asturias. Fabada is a rich, traditional, delicious white bean stew with compendium of morcilla (black sausage), chorizo and lacon (pork shoulder) or tocino (bacon). This is an experience for two best undertaken at lunch. Pastel de Cabracho - meaty scorpion fish mousse/pate, poached and blended with aromatics. Pastel de cabracho is one of La Chabola's signature dishes.Cachopo - (usually breaded veal or chicken stuffed with ham, cheese or vegetables)Desserts: Don't miss the Arroz con leche (perfectly sweetened rice pudding) and Copa de la Casa (with cream, biscuit and dulce de leche). Everyone is catered for at this charming restaurant from couples to families or large groups of friends, business or solo travellers. We loved it. Buen Provecho!

I have been a couple of times in there. And the most interesting thing about this place is the perfect combination of typical dishes with something brand new. I would encourage you to try filled mushrooms, breaded tomato and some warm salad. Magnificent prices and very interesting food proposals. You must come to this place.

Haydee is the result of experience in the kitchens of the Suarez brothers. Victor, who has cooked with the greats of world cuisine (MartÃn Berasategui and Ferran Adriá)and Laura formed in one of the world's best culinary schools "Le Gordon Blue". Vanguard
The menu at Tasca la Haydee is a wonderful fusion of Canaraian and Asian food. As a an aperitif they brought us a Bloody Mary jelly and a selection of beautiful breads with a variety of butters and oil. To follow we shared a Bao Bun Stuffed with Soft Shell Crab. For the main course I had a wonderful mushroom risotto with Parmesan and John had the fried eggs with black sausage. For desert we shared a Trilogy of Raspberries. The meal was accompanied by a local red wine -TajinasteApparently they will be moving their location in February 2019 to what used to be restaurant LâArena 53, off of the Santa Cruz motorway. We highly recommend this restaurant. Worthy of a Michelin Star but at very reasonable prices.Thank you so much for your extremely kind words, Sally. We are extremely happy to hear that you enjoyed our cuisine as much as you did. Will be moving inf late February any new information will be updated via our social media channels.Once againg, thanks for your support. Best

San Diego Restaurant, the authentic Canarian flavor. Wrap yourself in the delicious flavors of our traditional grilled meat: chicken, pork steak, sirloin, entrecote, chistorras, black pudding, rabbit. All this without forgetting the fresh fish of our isla
Years ago this was a regular haunt of the Tenerife Amigos golf society & then for some reason we left. But 3 visits in the last couple of week puts San Diego back on the regular visit list. Party of 5 stopped here for a late lunch early dinner. Very unassuming place from the outside with rustic decor inside. Menu was well composed with good variety without being overwhelming. We sampled a dish from each category: mushroom terrine, shrimp, calamari, chicken and beef and they were all exquisite. Washed down with 1 liter of very good Sangria and finished with superb tres leches cake, panna cotta and barraquito. Dishes were very well presented and service impeccable.Place across the street may have a better view but we are glad we chose this one.Of our 9 days on the island, this was our best meal. Also great price to value ratio.

Cocina de productos frescos y sabor tradicional canario adaptada a nuestros tiempor y servida de forma divertida y dinamica. Vistas espectaculares al Valle de La Orotava, El Teide y el mar...A fresh and traditional cousine modified to suit todays life and
So Disappointed! We we quite unwelcomed, I suspect when we called in without a reservation. A reservation was quite clearly not required as the restaurant only had 4 people in when we arrived and about 12 when we left. The food was fine although they bought us the wrong order . We made no fuss about this but they made no comment or recompense. After our main course was cleared we had no further contact even though we would have liked a dessert. We all felt like we were snubbed through our the service. After paying the owner ignored our departure. We had charming service from the young lady, thank you. However, I'm not sure what was wrong with us. The owner seemed to be all over the people from Germany and giving service to all the other tables. You win some and you loose some. We fine Brits have had great service in the area and will continue to support those establishments. We chuckled to ourselves as we didn't even get offered the old favorite sticky drink at the end. Things have clearly changed from when the nice old family were in charge. See for yourself self but don't be too British, even though we speak some Spanish it may change your welcome.

Been here twice now. Friendly welcome. Ordered what we thought was dry white wine - got sweet wine - and beer, which didnât arrive. Red wine was better. Eventually ordered dorado like the guy over there. It was alcohol free with lemon. Nice though.Bread and flavoured butter on arrival. Then homemade salad with some tuna, asparagus and avocado. Main course of mixed meats and Canarian potatoes. Lots and lots of meat - beef, chops, sausages, pork - including their speciality aged steak (much too blue for the lovely Angela and even I only nibbled at it). But overall it was nice, the staff welcoming and the atmosphere busy by the time we left

Santa Ursula isn't the first place you are going to think about going to in Tenereife ........ but this restaurant should be!We've be fortunate enough to eat in a terrific variety of wonderful Michelin starred restaurants in a variety of countries - we even went to Nub in Las Lagunas - sorry to say, its not a patch on Tasca de Oliver!Everything is simple, but spotless and the service is superb! Friendly and knowledgeable about both their food and wine and multi lingual.I have never been so moved by the quality of the food. Their chef, in a very small, but very well laid out galley kitchen, cooked me THE BEST French trimmed rack of lamb that I have EVER tasted. It was absolute perfection and even as I write, I can easily recall the flavours - I probably will not have rack of lamb again .......... until I go back, and I will definitely go back.

First of all, this is not a real guachinche, maybe the venue. I say this because the variety and quantity of dishes and probably the wine is not their production. They should consider this because this type of scam is killing something that we are very proud of. Apart from this, I have to say that you can dinner well with a low budget. Just to say that the stuffed mushroom were such as tennis ball and were the worst Iâve ever tried, another negative point is that you have to wait for a long time since you get a table, this depends on the time you arrive, finally the staff donât avise you the amount recommended so you will be carrying bags of food at the end of your meal. The positive aspect is that many dishes are excellent, for instance the chickpeas, fried cheese, the escaldó, the pork and beef meat and so on.
Mama Nena: food to share by Hermanos Suárez.
Haydee has moved up the road, Mama Nena has been created by the Suarez. To call it "son of Haydee" is doing it a disservice. It stands on it's own.Four of us shared the dishes:Crispy Crab Bao with Yuzu Mayo. 2 between four of us. Managed to keep us all quiet (with maybe one exception!). Delicious.Salad of Crispy Prawns and red fruit vinaigrette. My oh my! Lovely.Tuna Tartar with gooseberry ponzu. Magnificent blend of a variety of different tastes which possibly shouldn't work but does.Meatballs over Udon noodles with teriyaki sauce. OMG - the taste of the noodles! Meatballs good too!!Pork Rib cooked at low temperature with strawberry hoisin - the previous dishes were excellent - so was this! Again, another wonderful blend of unexpected tastes. Which worked very well! And then came the Postres! Well this was seething else! Chocolate Foam, cream of galletta maria with date ice cream. The taste literally did explode in your mouth!Electric Lemon Pie - the best lemon pie I have ever tasted!Banana ceviche with tiger milk ice cream and rocoto. Can't really comment as I was unable to prise a taste! Suffice it to say there were many satisfied grunts being made!Crunchy vanilla strudel with kaffir lime ice cream and curry. This dish probably defines the whole meal, a blend of different tastes which probably shouldn't be mixed together but they work spectacularly well.2 bottles of Balancies White and two bottles of water. Much Pan and Mantiquilla. â¬146.A wonderful meal and thoroughly recommended.Thank you so much for such a kind review! We are truly honoured to receive this great words within our first month! We hope to have you back very soon so you can continue to experience our innovative cuisine. Best,
